aye i said it earlier but the band(s) he has on this record are brilliant. he really unearthed some gems. well not unearthed as a few of them were in other semi-successful bands, but y'know... he's got the best outta everyone involved.
he's playing dublin on holloween.
i'm not going.
& i just know, already, it's gonna be something i'll regret missing for the rest of my life!
JW on holloween, it's perfect! one of the most fun nights of the yr w/one of the most fun guys around.

Right now my favorite song off the album is Hip Eponymous Poor Boy! It's such a great tune and love the laid back beat and lyrics!

but aye, nah it's more that it's on a weeknight & in dublin (i'm in the north of ireland, like 2hrs away, which obv is piss all by american distances but it's a little more hassle than i can handle atm - i'd have to get back up home after the gig for work the next day & that driving would kill my buzz).
i could still try & go but i can't convince anyone to go w/me (specifically cause it's a weeknight, & in dublin).
(we tend to party for holloween at the weekend if the 31st falls on a weeknight.)
& ever since the gnr dublin show of a few yrs back i kinda swore off going to concerts down there, cause seriously every single gig i go to down in dublin there's a bunch of dickheads. doesn't matter who is playing. at every gig i've been to in that city there's always a bunch of morons trying to ruin it or be overly aggressive. i just don't like that city & its atmosphere. i really dislike it! i've been to concerts all over the Ireland & the UK & festivals throughout Europe & seriously, Dublin crowds are the worst.
on the topic of the band - you're from detroit tho, no? is that maybe the connection to the bass player? is he another detroit alumni? or just random coincidence? both bands fucking kill it on the record but i think i prefer the girls' songs slightly more..
& yea, i said before in this thread about how much i love Hip Eponymous Poor Boy.
i love p much every song he wrote about Meg.
actually heard Truth Doesn't Make a Noise today for the first time in ages. one of my favourite White Stripes songs.
Meg is god. without her i don't think JW woulda unlocked his genius. y'know what they say, behind every great man...
