not surprising to hear this. sad all the same.
they got a lot of hate, mainly, i think, due to a backlash of the then unrelenting NME hype. then when Nicholls got too much of a problem the industry just turned on them & crapped them out. but hey, it's business .
Highly Evolved is a cracking debut. only one or two duff tracks on there.
Winning Days was more of mixed bag, but it certainly held the same potential there was always there, the title track is a particularly gorgeous moment.
Vision Vallley was a complete surprise. it's a fucking nugget, packed w/psych-pop 3minute killers it's a fantastic garage rock record.
didn't hear FP bar one song about being retarded but it wasn't great.
