Yeah, we are definitely witnessing history in the making. I don't think many can doubt that this guy is destined to be our president. Anyone remember the term "Reagan democrats"? This generation is going to be known for its "Obama republicans". Like Reagan, he has charisma and it brings people in from all sides.

I would not be surprised if he wins in a major landslide. Not a Reagan/Mondale type of landslide, but pretty damn close. I can easily see red states going in favor of him. One out of every 300 people is donating to him for fucks sake, and we haven't even reached the real campaign yet.

Republicans fucked up big time letting McCain get the nomination. There's just no way in hell that McCain can beat him. McCain just offers more of the same, and has been in Washington for years. McCain's "outsider" shtick is dead on arrival. No one's buying it.

Republican party insiders should tell McCain to step aside and hand a governor(or former governor) the nomination. Its a known fact that governors (or VPs of governors) usually become president. In the past 50 years, only one senator has been president, yet tons of senators have run for president. Senators have zero executive type experience, and the american people have always been reluctant to vote for senators.

A governor entering the race instead of McCain would actually have history on their side. Would america take a risk it hasn't taken since the 60's, or does the country vote how it usually votes? If its business as usual, Obama would lose to whichever governor he runs against.

GOP should have hyped up that chick thats governor of Alaska. I forgot her name(too tired to google it), but she's young, reasonably attractive, very popular in her state, and would be a fresh face for the republicans(which the party needs).

She's probably the only republican on the planet who could defeat Obama. The republican party is severely lacking in new blood. This would have been the chance to bring some to the table.

The new governor of Louisiana is also a good one in the Republican party. He's young, charismatic, and cares about people (obviously, he has to because the state is still a mess from Katrina and Rita).

Looked up that chick you were talking about from Alaska:

Interesting fact. In 2004, the total number of donors for both parties was 2.5 million.

In 2004, there were a total of 2.5 million donors to the entire presidential field '” Republicans and Democrats. At the rate he's attracting small donors, Obama alone could surpass that number if his campaign marches on to November.

That article says Hillary had 225,000 recently and McCain had 150,000 recently. I am sure they have both gone up, but at the time Obama had 800,000-900,000 and he's gone up quite a bit since then. He is just dwarfing them. 9

LOL, they are talking about the number of ads that Obama is running in Ohio and Texas. I can vouch for this since I'm here in Texas. The guy on MSNBC just said it's around 4 to 1 in Ohio. I think it's similar here in Texas, if not worse. It's not just Barack, it's the unions that are running a SHITLOAD of ads for him. The SEIU continues running ads like crazy here in Lubbock, almost as often as Barack's own campaign ads. Hillary just can't keep up. He has built a political machine from the bottom-up rather than from the top-down. They are talking about how it's just shocking to see a Clinton getting embarrassed in the number of ads.

ROFL, now Hillary has a graph asking her supporters to "close the gap" on Barack's newest $1.9 million ad-buy. This is the second time she's done this. It's sad that she can't get people to donate WITHOUT putting a desperate plea for help on her website. It's as if people don't even bother donating UNLESS she puts up the "close the gap" Meanwhile, the second she matches it, he will turn around and up the ante some more because his supporters actually donate to him on a consistent basis and he actually attracts a lot of new donors.
