I think that mostly has to do with his sleep schedule. Night owls usually have problems...you really are tied to the sun and night. Short of more evidence about Axl, who knows. He's doing very well, but it's not surprising he's not really skinny.

Body and mind are linked so its interesting to me to waste my own time looking at Axl's changing body shape and trying to link it to what his head space must have been like at that time.
He has porked up and slimmed down again a good few times over the years with his hair changing along with the body shape. I remain surprised that a man like Axl would allow himself to get "fat" (by showbiz standards).
Like many of you alluded to above, I always thought Axl would be like Iggy & Jagger, etc and remain stick-thin all his life.
I would have also thought that seeing Duff, Izzy, Slash and Matt looking so well preserved that he'd be obsessively trying to match them.
I wonder is a more rotund Axl basically a happier one? Or is it the opposite and the man gets too down to train.
Fat usually is not a good sign..
Slash got quite fat before he got pneumonia thaback in the Snakepit days

That Axl pic is awful. They just shouldn't do this with him.
