I never said Huet was the best ever... I said I was surprised when he played well and there's no chance he'll lead the Habs anywhere.  I still think it was a stupid move... unless Gainey has something else up his sleeve.  Rumour has it that he's trying to get Hossa and that package would include Johan Hedberg, so at least that's someone to back up Price in the playoffs.  Not much time left if they want something else to happen.

Biggest move of the day in Toronto?  Wade Belak goes to Florida for a 5th.  Looks like Fletcher can't do anything to get rid of JFJ's garbage.

Ottawa's been disappointing too... They've only got Lapointe so far.  I think they're in the mix for Hossa too... I'd imagine Wadell is playing Ottawa and Montreal against each other trying to get the best deal... GO HABS GO!

So did the Habs and Sens.

Bryan Murray says Sens are done dealing... they still don't have a quality goalie.
I hope something trickles through for Montreal.  Otherwise, this year's a wash.

Campbell deal... well he had to go. We weren't going to sign him because he's not worth a 5 to 6 year investment, if the price is that of an elite defensemen. 3 years for 15-18 mil was a good enough offer and he turned it down, so thank you and goodbye. We'll miss him, but at least we didn't let him walk like Briere, Drury did. I like Paetsch but I admit having Kalinin, Pratt, and him in important positions is unfortunate.

Northeast was pretty lame, as a division, in trading. Not much improving. With Richards, Stars may be the best team in the West. Hard to argue, anyways.

Surprised by their move. Not sure how it will affect the team. They don't look good right now, but it's really hard to be the best in October-November and the best in February-March.

Bernier scores 2 goals and gets one assist in his first game as a Sabre and the Sabres win 8-4 over the Predators!! 3 or 4 fights, a bloody nose for Miller, Bernier got in a little scruff too after someone slashed Roy. Connolly played unreal. Great game. Hopefully Bernier can continue to contribute against Montreal Friday.

I think the Paddock thing had to happen, especially if he watched Sportsnet or TSN during the trade deadline.  Maybe Murray can keep Emery under control and motivate the team to where they were last year.  On paper, this team should be better than it was last year, but they're just not into it.  Smart move for Murray if he wants to hold both positions to do it after the trade deadline, because he doesn't have much GMing to do between now and the end of the season.
