I'm surprised by the Forsberg signing.  I was pretty confident he'd be back in Philly.  Maybe that 10 game slide changed his mind about that.  As for Sundin, I kind of feel bad for him.  He'll be tarred and feathered and carted out of Toronto on a stick.  I still think Tanguay may go.  And I'm hoping and wishing that my Habs pick up Richards, Jokinen, or Hossa.  Preferably a winger, but I wouldn't mind any of them.  They're all rumoured to go there, but at the end of the day it wouldn't surprise me if Montreal doesn't get anyone significant.

And that McCarty signing isn't significant... he's still playing in Grand Rapids for the next 2 weeks at least.

Other things to take note of: Campbell left the Buffalo game early... he's either injured or traded.  All of JFJ's no-trade signings are going to keep the Leafs in hell for a long time... Kubina, Tucker, Sundin, and Kaberle aren't able to be moved.  McCabe is on a no-trade clause too, but he's willing to waive his.  It's going to be hard to rebuild when those guys won't step aside for younger talent.  Still in Toronto, Hal Gill was a late scratch tonight, so he might be traded.  I can't imagine who would want him, but who knows?

I love deadline day!  Right now it feels like Christmas Eve.

Leafs are whooping Ottawa's ass tonight...holy smokes yikes

McCarty has always been an awesome player...he has a knack for scoring huge goals...i was upset when they got rid of him a couple years ago and glad to see them bring him back

Campbell didn't leave the game early... I was there. But he could very well have been traded. Can't believe Sabres got up 3-0 and lost. But I'm kind of glad Briere got the winner. The fans were being real douches to a guy that came to a very shitty Buffalo team and helped pull them up to the best they'd ever been. Have some respect. First Sabre since LaFontaine to get over 90 points in a season. It's not like Buffalo's offer was even close to Philly's. But I digress...

Ottawa fans should be worried.

Ottawa needs a starting goalie.  Emery and Gerber aren't cutting it this year.  There are also rumours that John Paddock job's in jeopardy.

Paddock said the other day that there are a few trades that the team is looking ot make that havent been in the media at all...he said anyone could go

i guess Brad Boyle is off the market...he signed an extension with the Lightning last night...this pretty much guarantees that Richards will be traded today whoever gets him is getting a great deal

also, Bob McKenzie's blog muses that Blake and Foote are both interested in returning to Colorado and would waive their no trade clauses to go there,

TSN also says that Vancouver and Ottawa are gonna be buyers today, with OTT and MTL being front runners for Hossa...

Seems Chicago is gonna try for another rebuilding phase (around Toews and Kane) by the list of players they alledgedly released last night

Nikolai Khabibulin
Martin Havlat
Robert Lang
Tuomo Ruutu
Marty Lapointe
Yanic Perrault
Andrei Zyuzin
Rene Bourque

Lastly rumors are swilring about SanJose looking for an offensive defenseman in either Kubina or Campbell

also thescore.ca suggests that the habs will trade Ryder for Hossa

www.sportsnet.ca thinks the canucks are the best bet to land Olli Jokinen

Nice to see the Flyers finally pull out a win. I was at Saturdays game where they let up a goal with 4 seconds left then lost in OT. 17

Briere had a nice move on the shootout, it just barely squeeked in. Nice move to get Vinny Prospal, Flyers always bring former. I swear someday Rod Brind'Amour will be a Flyer again. 16

Buffalo received RW Steve Bernier and a 1st round pick for Campbell...pretty good deal both ways...but its tough to replace a defenceman like Campbell if the guy was just gonna leave anyway though in the offseason they did a great job

a rumor now about an Ottawa/Chicago trade......Khabiboulin for Emery that would be intense

Tampa Deals Brad Richards (C) and Johan Holmqvist (G) to Dallas for Mike Smith (G), Jussi Jokenin (W) and Jeff Halpern (C)

thats huge...especially if Smith develops into a #1 goalie
