Oh hell yeah i'm up for that. That looks damn good.

You know i'm not a big Matthew McConaughey guy, short of A Time To Kill.

But last year he REALLY impressed me in The Lincoln Lawyer. I thought it was a total comeback film for him. He was absolutely fantastic and showed he still has A-list, not only star quality, but actual acting.

This Killer Joe seems to be another good dramatic follow up film, as well as his recurring role on Eastbound & Down, for him to wash the taste of those awful romantic comedies out of audience's mouths.

The Killer Joe role is a bit reminiscent though. I don't know if any of you saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4: The Next Generation (also known as "The Return of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), in which McConaughey played the psychotic leader of the Sawyer family.

Although Killer Joe is not near as over-the-top and campy as his role in TCM4 (of what we've seen in the trailer), the darker aspects of the role he's doing in the trailer is almost identical to the character he played in TCM4.

just fyi, and i'll definitely be checking it out. Solid supporting cast as well, Emile Hirsch, Gina Gershon, Thomas Haden Church...

Dude, I read the script for Killer Joe a long time ago. It is all kinds of over the top shit, not so much camp though. Trust me, it's going to be fucked up. But he's much more cooler of a character than TCM. Is a slow burning process, where his violent lunacy builds to violent crescendo.
