People around here really need a sense of humor, but they get upset because that sarcasm has a ring of truth to it and that is why people get so worked up

dave - you meant what you said and got called on it. your defense all of the sudden is that it was a joke. yet your last post says it had a ring of truth to it. which is it?

Pardon the obvious typo classifying Stinson as ex-Guns N' Roses.  Unless they know something we don't, which I highly doubt.

Soul Asylum Announce New Album Delayed Reaction

by Andrew Tijs on June 12, 2012

Alt-rock veterans Soul Asylum are back with their first album in six years, titled Delayed Reaction.

The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winners are reinvigorated with a new line-up, founding members Dave Pirner and Dan Murphy bringing in Tommy Stinson (ex-Replacements, ex-Guns N Roses) and former Prince drummer Michael Bland.

The band recorded and self-produced Delayed Reaction in Los Angeles, New Orleans and their hometown of Minneapolis. It’s the follow-up to their 2006 album The Silver Lining.

Pirner explained the process in a press release: “It feels like approaching it as an album and a thing that has a sequence, and a thing that is a piece of work in itself is almost an archaic process… Honestly, it’s more organic. Even though you’re using some of this newer technology, the fact that you’re doing it yourself is what made it take so long and the process unique, this time.”

Delayed Reaction will be released on 429 Records though Universal Music Australia on July 20.

Tracklist
1. Gravity
2. Into the Light
3. The Streets
4. By the Way
5. Pipe Dream
6. Let’s All Kill Each Other
7. Cruel Intentions
8. The Juice
9. Take Manhattan
10. I Should Have Stayed In Bed

Not sure why I never moved this out of the Guns N' Roses section, but I went ahead and did so now. I realize The General is in GN'R but this is fan more about Soul Asylum than Tommy.

Yeah I noticed that too, after I posted it in the thread.  I just assumed it was in The Black Hole.

This is the second article I've seen now by different publications that have stated Tommy is an "ex-Guns N' Roses" member. I never botherd saying anything before cause like you faldor I think whoever wrote this one as well as the one I read months ago just screwed up and has no clue.

Dave Pirner has been quoted many times saying  Axl has dibs on Tommy.  Soul Asylum will want him to tour with them and he will unless of course he's busy with Guns. Just the way it is.

Yeah, many guys juggle 2 or more bands these days.  It's the way of the world.  I think the reporter just didn't do his homework and assumed since Tommy was working with Soul Asylum that he was no longer in GNR.  Problem is, he failed to notice that Tommy is currently on tour with Guns.  Tough to be an ex-member with that going on.
