Axl could easily do this right now. Waiting until 2013 is a fucking joke. Unless Axl is so flat broke that Uni will not fund any future new GN'R material, I dunno. Axl could drop all of this within the year. There is PLENTY of time.

I've always hated Silkworms with a passion and I always got the impression I was alone on that.
I've never liked the song either. To be fair, the live recordings of the song were never all that great. A studio version of the song COULD be good. I never really liked Chinese Democracy all that much from the live versions, but that all changed when the first studio version leaked. Gave me a new appreciation for the song. So the same thing could happen for Silkworms, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I loved CD on those early days. Was bummed when he dropped the line 'if your ass were your head you could tell'
It had some kinda humour the later versions lost, became a little too po-faced.
Silkworms was a real wtf? Ugh gross moment.

2. Keep the new band and the circus vibe...but give Axl his 2006 rasp and look...you'd still get a ton of WTF cos of Robin and Bucket ll....but then if Axl hit those 2006 RAR style screams and rasp...you'd feel confident Axl's back...
This. And if they'd come out of the gate swinging with some new songs that showcased Bucket and Finck's talents, it would've helped.
Like, opening with Chinese Democracy and then plunging into There Was A Time, or something.

I don't think so. If that Axl would have showed up with Izzy and VR minus Scott and Dave in 2002, things would be different.
Yeah, there really wouldn't be any music or tours but a whole lot of lawsuits. 
Maybe they could have got through that one VMA performance... Maybe...
