For some reason when I think instrumentals on 14Yr I think of Dizzy's piano more. I'm weird.

Weirder is that it's AXL playing the piano.

Axl doesn't play the piano on it live. I thought we were talking about the live version.

Awesome factoids on the unplayed songs. Can't understand why DDM and SGB never got played, even if they aren't heavy hitters. Either would've sounded great with the band's fucked up energy and anger.
Can completely understand why no Get In The Ring or My World. I wish they'd fucked around with an alternate GITR, more akin to Duff's original approach. Even let Duff sing it. That song has total balls, but was completely cartoonish in its final form. One thing that always cracked me up was "...and in this corner, weighing in at 850 pounds, Guns! And! Roses!" So not counting the touring act, you're looking at 6 141# junkies coming at you. For some reason, I always picture soaking wet cartoon alley cats trying to look badass. smile

Axl stated in an interview once back in the day that he felt Don't Damn Me said everything it needed to say on the album, and he had no interest in performing it live.

Whatever that means. I think he alluded to it lyrically being quite personal and questioning if the band could duplicate it properly in a live setting. Led you to think they couldn't, yet they still attempted Breakdown, Locomotive, and Estranged became a staple on the entire UYI tour, which both versions of the band said was the most difficult song to perform live by far. Go figure.

Checked GNROnTour.com for reference...

Garden of Eden was played only three times (that we know of)...

Austin, TX 1993
Birmingham, AL 1993
Portland, ME 1993

I was at the B'ham show...

Wow what a rarity show to be at. Do you remember any of the show? Like Garden of Eden getting played.

Why not Dust N' Bones?

Anyone notice that Axl does far more UYI II songs than UYI I?

Just curious why...

As far as why not Dust N' Bones,

I thought this was the case, but I just doublechecked it to be sure.

Writing credits on 14 Years is Axl and Izzy and Dust N Bones is Izzy, Duff, and Slash.  I'll bet that's why.

Nice find. I absolutely agree with you as to the reason that one got played.

I love The Garden also. I was always a big fan of that one. It'd be nice if it found itself revived.
