Reviving the topic, once upon a time, Bumble was asked on a chat what would a song he'd write for GN'R sound like.
He said that he presented this one but it was not going to be used and that the next two or three next albums were planned, but as he liked it he released it solo:
He then said something along the lines of "take Simple Days, put Axl's lyrics and melodies on it and that's Bumblefoot joining Guns N' Roses"

It's a pretty good song; but it doesn't fit within the songs of CD. Who knows what the other songs sound like from the session work.

There probably aren't much.
I highly doubt these guys have really even recorded since Robin & Bucket was in the band. Axl pretty much has his songs, at least for the next couple of records, short of using DJ for something, and that's that.
What's even more embarassing is that Axl keeping that stuff constantly shelved away is just gonna make the next release even more dated and virtually in-accessable to a mainstream audience.
And Iovine and Uni probably know that, and thus the reason Axl's been blackballed.

Their sound is a universally accessible sound that remains unchanged since their debut, as well as modern. Like a classic dress.
So does OLD Guns. But Axl's Chinese Democracy was an album with a sound firmly rooted in styles "of the time" in the late 90s/early 2000s.

No doubt. Totally agree, i'm the first to say that. But if a record company can't PUSH IT to an audience because it's a niche sound that is not universally appreciated and marketable, a record company will typically say "what else you got?" to your face.
I think Chinese & Better would've had chances in the early 2000's to catch heat, and I think TWAT could've been pushed as the main ballad (even in 2008).
But if CD II is anything like CD, it'll be another no heat album.
Might be Guns N' Roses greatest album ever made... but no heat.
