Re: Guns N' Roses Live! Era 2001/2012
Depends if you want vocals or guitar to be best on the AFD/UYI tracks.
All AFD songs sounded better in 2006 when Axl still had rasp and power.
All AFD guitar parts are better sounding since DJ joined.
Given it's not the old band and the focus for people will be Axl - I'd give the preference to 2006 era vocals - so stuff like nighttrain from RAR06.....
So yeah...actually I'd probably mix the RAR06 where Axl has rasp...with the 09 shows where they do Shackler, If the World, Scrapped and TIL with full voice....

Can't wait to see them! Going to be a pleasure to read 'em. Yeah..you and Axlin are right. If you listen to Jungle, Sweet Child, and some of the other tracks on Live Era you can hear a ton of fixed audio on the vocals and instruments. I think Axl even re-recorded some vocals to get it through the mix on most of the tracks.

Re: Guns N' Roses Live! Era 2001/2012
I think the greatest show in a VERY long time was in 2009 at Tokyo....it's pretty much the goto show for any of the less played CD era tracks...and most of them sounded amazing IMO as Axl had a lot of rasp going on....
It's pretty much the mother of all modern era setlists....I'd go nuts for a proshot of this shit.

Also...I think you need There Was a Time in Tokyo...it's the best version with the screams....

Such an epic show! One of the best shows of the new lineups! You ain't the only one who wants a proshot of this show. The guy who recorded most of the songs and put 'em on youtube was cool for doing that. It was the best show to introduce a new member of the band and get him into the swing of things; so the crowd can go nuts!
