Re: GN'R returns to the UK
"Full of the powder"
You know Olorin has threatened to punch me in the face, and it's fine because he seems like the old school Scot. He punches you, you punch him, burst into hysterics, have another belt, and go back to rockin'.
This dude knows how to get after it in the most old school of ways. Killer fuckin' review, killer fuckin' show man, awesome!

Re: GN'R returns to the UK
So I saw GNR in Manchester last night, it's the third time I've seen them at this venue now (06,10,12) and this was a) the poorest attended, the whole top tier of the arena was closed and b) without a doubt the best show of the 3 I've seen.
Thin Lizzy were good and by coming on at 9 the wait for GNR who came on at 11 went by quite quickly. I could harp on about start times but it's been done in other threads and I'd made suitable arrangements so it wasn't too big a deal.
As a show, fantastic, Axl sounded great, he was clear in the mix and his voice was excellent. I thought he looked better than in 2010 as well. Particualar highlights surprisingly were songs I don't usually pay much attention to when GNR hit the road and videos make it to Youtube. ISE, Brownstone, Sorry, Estranged and Nightrain really stood out. I hope a good video of Sorry surfaces cause the vocals were fantastic. Nice to get Shacklers on the setlist which I wasn't expecting. All in all a great night and with the show clocking in at just over 3 hours I'm completely knackered today, I have no idea how some of you do 5/6 shows in a couple of weeks span

Re: GN'R returns to the UK
Awesome dude! Glad you had a good time! Good news that the shows are still kicking ass and worth the ticket price out there. Can't wait for the next U.S. tour; so I can get a good rock n' roll show as well. Saving up my money right now for The Wall, maybe Rush in the fall, and a few other bands that catch my attention.
Re: GN'R returns to the UK
yeah it's cool you guys are getting great shows which to be honest nobody here has ever denied to be the case. however for thsoe who continueally preach about hwo interest is booming well interest is clearly fading as is evident by the "poorest attended show" that APE has been to. That's what happens I guess when you tour the old band's music with a abnd that ahd nothing to do with it.
The shows are great no doubt and people are losing interest. I just wonder if they'll tour Europe and the UK again with nothing new to show. I'm already envisioning them doing more small dates in the US with nothing new to show.

Who said interest was booming? I don't remember reading that. Interest has been slowly waning throughout the years, but I don't think it's been all that dramatic of a dropoff. But booming? Certainly not.
