Re: Jury Will Hear No Doubt's Claims in 'Band Hero' Trial
It's the same crap like the Kurt Cobain case for GH5. If Courtney didn't want him to be a playable character, then she shouldn't have put his image in the game in the first place. If it happened with Slash and Carlos Santana, they were bound to do the same thing with Kurt in the programming.
Re: Jury Will Hear No Doubt's Claims in 'Band Hero' Trial
If they do have a video of them telling them how it works, this will be a short trial.
Regardless, who f'n cares? They didn't complain when they cashed the check. If the worst thing that can happen is Gwen sings Honkey Tonk Women, I think they'll be okay. The band has done more to tarnish their image than anyone could do on a video game.
Re: Jury Will Hear No Doubt's Claims in 'Band Hero' Trial
I just do not get why any of them even care. Like Buzz said, they didn't care when they cashed the check.
If you didn't want your likeness used to perform songs you didn't want to perform, than you should've never climbed in bed with a VIDEO GAME MAKER.
At this point I don't know what damages they could possibly seek. These games are dead in the cold ground and have weeds growing on top of them. There's no image tarnishing, because these things aren't even in the public consciousness anymore. Like all "rockets", it took off fast, exploded huge, but when it died, it died FAST.
Re: Jury Will Hear No Doubt's Claims in 'Band Hero' Trial
I agree. the artists always come out looking like whiney little bitches with these thinsg. No Doubt is no different. What was Axl's gripe a few years back with a video game maker? I thought he looked like a bitch as well.
Re: Jury Will Hear No Doubt's Claims in 'Band Hero' Trial
He was also suing Activision claiming they used Slash's likeness in association with the band Guns N' Roses, by promoting the song Welcome To The Jungle, of which Slash has not been apart of Guns N' Roses since 1996 for the game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
So Axl was seeking damages.
Like what fuckin' damages? Axl looked like an ass for multiple reasons. 1) Slash associated with them on a song he CO-WROTE, 2) the game is GUITAR Hero, not VOCALIST Hero, and 3) it was mainly a lawsuit to let everyone know that Slash isn't in Guns N' Roses and hasn't been since 1996.
Like seriously Fu Man Puss, take up drugs or something man.
Re: Jury Will Hear No Doubt's Claims in 'Band Hero' Trial
Right now I remeber. yeah what a goof. I loved how it was revolving around not linking Slash's likeness to Guns N' Roses and all his stupid lawsuit did was remind everyone the guy who played guitar on the most iconic rock record ever is no longer in his "fake" Guns N' Roses. That was smooth
