Are you a Guns N Roses fan? Do you love Chinese Democracy?
Are you creative?

This contest is for you!

The winner will be awarded $100 and fleeting internet fame.  As part of your reward, your video will be promoted in a marketing campaign by my marketing organization (which is quite good).

Simply chose any Chinese Democracy song and let your imagination run wild! The contest is open to all GNR fans of the current line-up.  Your video theme could be inspiring, edgy, poignant, enigmatic, funny, etc.

In other words, what does the song mean to you?

Show us your artistic side.

If you don’t already have this program, download Windows Movie Maker (free). If you have a Mac, you need iMovie or a more advanced editing suite. They’re both fun and easy to learn.

Everyone can enjoy sharing and viewing their work. Please email gunnerscontest@gmail.com to register.

Please Follow the Guidelines Below to Enter:

YouTube Channel: Gunners (GNR Fans)

Contact Email: gunnerscontest@gmail.com

Registration Deadline: June 4th
Music Video Deadline: June 18th
Award Announcement: June 25th

Number of Participants: 20+. We need at least 20 people to register for the contest.

Instructions: Email your video to gunnerscontest@gmail.com and include your name, username, your local GNR Website, and the song track name in the body of the email and in your video end credits.

Save your files in this format as: songtitle_firstname_lastname.Youtubefileformat
Example:     Scraped_Johnny_Rocket.wmv
        Sorry_Bessie_Smith.mov

Caveat: I am not affiliated with GNR or UMC.  If anyone from the UMC or GNR disagrees at any point, the contest will end and no prize money will be awarded.

Violence, nudity, or illegal activities are not acceptable. Don't injure yourself or others. Failure to follow the rules and guidelines may lead to disqualification.

Why am I doing this challenge, you ask?
Because this contest is dedicated every gunner across the globe with much love. Keep the faith. Peace.

Finally, allow me to thank Guns and Roses and especially Axl Rose; without whom none of this would be possible.

MsRocknrolla usually hangs out at gunsnroses.com but please send your questions to gunnerscontest@gmail.com.

Apologies in advance for the typos.

Have you guys discussed this video before?

I've never saw it. The uploader claims it's the real deal. The photography and style fits with the live action displayed on the screens on the shows, but could be fake as a 3 dollar bill.

It's very well produced, good quality, fits the song and have some subtle references to Guns N' Roses along the way...

What you guys think?

This contest was originally slated for the Nightrain members but I heard some of them post here so I thought I give a shot to anyone who was interested.

You can be sexy, angry, etc.  Just cover the naughty bits. You have to be a LITTLE creative. For some reason YouTube has a problem with showing  nudity to underage kids.

I'm a newbie here but I've been a gnr fan for a donkey's age. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Peace.

It seems like a fun idea to me. I don't have the skills...but there's so many zillion GNR fans out there I bet you'll find someone who has pro level skills and wants to do it.

Years back there was the guy who made a killer medly of the old and newer bands with himself dressed up as Slash/bucket/bumble and playing in between the songs...it was nicely made...shows what people can do.

My only concern is given how litigious GNR can be is that creating unauthorised stuff may be like waving a red flag at a bull, then again they may do what george lucas does and "enjoy letting someone else play in our sandpit for a while".

True, but if they don't want to put videos out themselves, what choice do we have as fans?  Axl, and most artists, say they want the fans to get their own feelings and impressions for each song, so what better way to express than through a fanmade video?

YouTube has an issue with nudity to underage kids, but at the same time showing violence, guns and all kinds of crap to anyone willing to watch it. Quite the double standard.
