Sabres kicked the crap out of Ottawa. Great game. Now I'm worried they'll get lax for Toronto tonight though. We'll see.

A big blow for the Hurricanes playoff hopes.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Hurricanes captain Rod Brind'Amour will have reconstructive surgery on a torn ligament in his left knee and will likely miss the rest of the season.

Dr. Marty Isbell is scheduled to perform the surgery at Rex Hospital at 3 p.m. Friday.

Brind'Amour tore his left anterior cruciate ligament during a collision early in Thursday night's 4-2 victory over Pittsburgh. He entered the game with a team-leading 51 points.

He was sandwiched by the Penguins' Nathan Smith and Georges Laraque near the boards at the center line just 1 1/2 minutes into the game.

Holy fucking shit!!! Did you see that game tonight Backslash? My god. The biggest comeback in Montreal's history. Down 5-0 and they beat the Rangers 6-5. That could in all honesty be the defining moment for this team. Holy crap.  I dont think there's been a comeback that great in over and decade by any team. Unbelievable.  I watched the whole thing from start to finish. I never turned it off once. Man was I pissed though watching a 5-0 blowout, in french mind you. I was livid that Montreal could be doing so well and then not show up at all, at home but then they scored and I was happy they didn't get shutout. Then they scored again and I was like "Oh that's nice" then the 3rd goal and I perked up and 9 seconds later they scored again and I'm going bonkers. They tied it up and should've won it actually in regulation and then overtime as well as the Rangers were just gassed and Montreal was playing on some level I've never seen them play before. Then Koivu fires one home in the shootout and Huet does the rest.  Holy crap! No exageration but I have never seen a game like that before in my life. There's no words but as you can tell this is my biggest post in nearly 7 months hahaha!

GO HABS GO!!!

Yeah Bono, it was truly magical.  It indicates that the Habs are for reall!!  I haven't seen them come on like that since the '93 playoffs.  I mean, they played like a team possessed in the third period and really skated and passed circles around the Rangers.  Of course, they should've never let in 5 goals to begin with, but that's not important now.

Neemo, Habs are also in the running for Sundin and Hossa.  The rumoured names going the other way are usually Ryder, Higgins, and Halak.  I think if they make changes this year, they should be minor tweaks.  I want them to hold on to Ryder, the man's been coming on as of late and if Carbo doesn't scratch him anymore he could still score 25 goals this year.  He was the main reason they were able to come back last night.

dont understand the reasoning behind that but whatever hmm

Sundin wont be going anywhere IMO but only 6 days to find out for sure...should be an interesting day on the 26th 5

I just can't believe the Habs are really that good. I could see them losing int he first round really easily, but then again they could lead the whole conference.

Was at the Sabres game with a friend last night. Great game! I was shocked how bad things went for 50 minutes, but then it just turned around. The Sabres may still make the playoffs yet! That Connolly-Roy-Vanek line is on fire. One of the most dangerous in the East. All 4 goals last night came from them.

Sources tell TSN that Toronto Maple Leafs interim general manager Cliff Fletcher and captain Mats Sundin met on Thursday to discuss his future with the team.

It's believed Fletcher asked Sundin for a list of teams he would consider playing for, although the Leafs GM stopped short of officially asking him to waive his no-trade clause.

The fact Fletcher has asked for the list of teams speaks to his intent to trade Sundin, but Sundin remains in control and if unwilling can scuttle any potential deal.

Fletcher also met with veteran blueliner Bryan McCabe this morning.

Sundin has only a few days to contemplate his future with the trade deadline set for 3pm (et) on Tuesday, however the belief is Toronto is hoping for a response from him today.

If the Leafs captain clears the way for a trade, he will only do so to join the team of his choice, which will clearly limit Toronto's flexibility.

The fact the 37-year-old is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent July 1st also hinders Toronto's asking price as it is unlikely Sundin will relinquish further control by agreeing to any extension before fully assessing his future in the summer.

Debate will rage on all fronts, no matter the outcome of Sundin's decision.

If he agrees to a trade and is moved as a rental, then the rate of return will be analyzed and compared to Sundin's value had he stayed on as the Maple Leafs franchise player for another season or two.

If he opts not to waive his no-trade and crushes any chance of the organization jump-starting its rebuild then the quiet rumblings of those critical of his decision will become deafening in an attempt to villify one of the Toronto Maple Leafs most beloved leaders.

Detriot, San Jose, Anaheim and Vancouver are believed to be the main Western Conference contenders for Sundin, however with Sundin in full control of his destiny, an Eastern Conference team remains a strong possiblity as well, and some believe the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators will be in play.

Throughout his career, Sundin has average slightly better than a point per game. In 1,293 games he has scored 547 goals, 757 assists, for 1,304 points.
