Re: GN'R returns to the UK
Went to Notts last night, second time i've taken a very sceptical non-fan and they've been blown away whilst i've been bored. It's a great, slick show but when the highlight of the show for you are old new songs like Madagascar you've played bootlegs of a million times since 2001 and you're only about 10 metres from the stage and literally the only person who is even remotely interested in them, let alone singing along dancing it becomes quite a sad experience in many ways. The mix was so bad (as it was at most of the UK shows i've been to bar the O2) that nobody who didn't know the songs would have understood anything Axl was singing in Madagascar or Sorry. Just, meh.
Re: GN'R returns to the UK
I'm looking forward to Madagascar, really hope they dont play TWAT in its place.
Other wishes:
Pie in the sky but I hope the 06 intro returns, and also that they start with Jungle, much better suited to getting the crowd bouncing.
Hope Axl isnt late, Glasgow folk are not patient and quick to show their displeasure.
I'm really hoping they play Catcher cause it has a Scottish connection, the "how a body took a body" line in the song and the book is from the Robert Burns poem Catcher In The Rye.
It'll be cool to hear Rosie as well, since the famous "Angus" chants on the AC/DC live album was actually recorded at the Glasgow Apollo concert hall.
The rest of the usual setlist will do me fine, I'll fucking die inside if Estranged isnt played. I've been feeling really apathetic to GNR for the last year, but since I've got me ticket and the show is less than a week away I'm pretty fuckin excited.

Have a good time man! Hopefully you are able to take some pics! Rock on!
Re: GN'R returns to the UK
Cheers man, I'll be taking my camera since I'm not drinking so I'll have a few decent ones to share hopefully. I just hope there wont be a riot or a walk off from Axl, they went on at 11pm tonight and in Glasgow that'll be like a red flag to a bull.

Yeah I see. Hoping it works out for ya! Even if Axl does show up late, I'm sure he'll make it up to them by putting on a kick ass show!

Yeah I was really excited when they played Madagascar also. One of my favorites on CD, and I wanted so bad to hear it in 2006, and they played Chinese instead.

Re: GN'R returns to the UK
Madagascar is a great song on CD! It's probably on my top 5 favorites on the album. Like everyone else it's one of the first songs I heard from the album.
