Re: Overloaded - Bumblefoot
His style is pretty out there, I'm not sure whether he should be writing for GN'R if he is. It reminds me a bit of System Of A Down, with a bit of Faith No More oddness as well.
Not too bad though!

Re: Overloaded - Bumblefoot
Of course. I think Abnormal is probably the better record than this; but Bumble is the kind of musician that can branch out and adapt to different styles and tones for pieces of music. The man has a diverse taste in music which is a good habit to possess.

Not accusing anyone here, but...
ANYONE that accuses DJ Ashba of "not fitting Guns N' Roses", and then turns around and puts over Ron Thal as a "great fit", seriously has no fucking clue what they are talking about concerning music.
Ron's stuff is "interesting", but i've felt for years that he's basically Gilby Clarke, if Gilby had been a lead soloist-type. He's basically there for the solos, and I highly doubt will ever have much influence on really writing anything with GN'R, based on his style, other than solos, and adding rhythm parts here and there. I think most lead writing jobs will be handed to DJ & Richard, with DJ being the only real guitarist to actually sculpt songs with Axl.
jmho; Bucket was weird ass too, but something about his style fit the GN'R scope more

Well I think Ron is in the same cloth as Buckethead to an extent. It was probably the closest guy to him that they could find at the time, so he was a natural fit for a replacement. He plays the Bucket material quite well. Can he write material as well as Bucket in GNR? That remains to be seen.
