Re: New Guitar Hero Game Announced
Joe Perry: Latest Guitar Hero For Gamers
February 15, 2008
Aerosmith
Today, Activision unveiled a new Guitar Hero video game focusing on Aerosmith. Dubbed Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, the new game will arrive in stores this summer and will feature about 30 Aerosmith songs as well as music from various acts that have opened for the band. The game also will recreate the sense of attending an Aerosmith concert as players will be seeing visuals of guitarist Joe Perry and singer Steven Tyler doing their moves onstage as users play along.
"The premise is that it's going to cover the 30-plus years of the band, from high school all the way through the rock superstardom of today," Kai Huang, head of Activision's RedOctane unit, told Reuters. "It's just a completely new way to interact with this music and with Aerosmith, and we think there's more opportunity to do that in the future."
The focus on a single band marks a new twist for the video game franchise. "They recognize that it can deliver their music in an innovative and new way," said Huang of the band's willingness to participate in the project. "It's a new distribution platform for them."
wow...so i guess this is what happens when you sell the rights to your songs

Re: New Guitar Hero Game Announced
Would be very cool to have a GNR guitar hero game but would all original members give it the ok? I suppose they said ok to WTTJ so maybe we will get a GNR one somewhere down the line.

Dont forget that SCOM was in GH2
I'm thinking we'll get an early single from GnR on the Aerosmith game
It's so Easy, Paradise City, Nightrain or Patience
I'd say that NT would prolly be the coolest of the 4

No offense APE, but I don't think GN'R is worthy of a Guitar Hero video game.
What are some bands that opened for aerosmith?
GN'R
Motley Crue
KISS (I think...)
Did AC/DC open for Aerosmith?

But then we'll have to have all the band members game-ified. Do you think Axl would be willing to do motion capturing stuff?

If it helps keep his band on the payroll and keeps him from having to turn in an album, I'd be willing to guess he'd consider anything.
Re: New Guitar Hero Game Announced
I think this is just a new way to try to sell music as the industry move further down the shitter.
Guitar Hero is basically a medium all it's own at this point it's so huge, and this'll get kids who might not go out and buy some albums, but are looking for something new for their Guitar Hero into Aerosmith.
Although, it does kinda bring up images of that South Park Guitar Hero episode for me.
