I still have no fucking clue how ID thinks Gilby's STONES-influenced style didn't fit in with the 92-93 GN'R, but Love Spit Love Richard Fortus fits so much better.
Exactly.
I still think Gilby was a pretty damn good replacement for Izzy, and he sounded great alongside Slash on the UYI tour, and in the studio alongside Slash on TSI, and even Snakepit 1.

yeah you know exactly what Gilby was thinking. He wasn't doing anything for the fans he was all about self promotion and just happy they invited him. Thank god they threw him that bone.

That or he did what he always did and thats fill in for Izzy in a big way. It amazes me how unappreciative some of you are towards guys like Matt and Gilby yet praise the shit out of guys who have in essence done fuck all in Gn'R.

Okay, if it makes you feel better, Gilby specifically showed up like a superhero to help out the fans. They called him up, "Hey Gilby, can you help out the fans and show up to the HOF?" "Of course, thanks for inviting me so I can perform in Izzy's place for the fans. I'm glad Dave Kushner wasn't available to help the fans!"
Gilby has done fuck all in GN'R compared to the other guys. End of story. You like him? Fine, don't matter to me.

Are you referring to current GnR or original GnR members, as far as doing fuck all?
He played on the biggest ever tour of the band, at the height of their popularity, played on an official release (TSI), so he's ahead of DJ Ashba at this stage

Over the top stupid comment. Dave Kushner would not make sense. Gilby was the guy if Izzy couldn't be there. Sorry you lack the ability to recognize this. Anyone else other than Gilby(if it wasn't Izzy) would've been STUPID. I bought pawnshop guitars cd within 2 weeks of its release...and still own it
i am strongly of the opinion that some of the tracks on that album were meant for GnR its too bad that he never had the chance to step in and try to help move the gnr brand forward back in the mid 90's

Nice, attacks because someone disagrees with you, per usual. This is supid. Gilby is lame. He performed on the same stage as Slash and Axl. That's his big contribution. You love him, congrats.
Let me make this real simple: Gilby accepted the invite to the HOF for the same reason he accepted the invite to join GN'R: For himself, first and foremost. And there is nothing wrong with that. Anything for the fans was secondary to doing this for himself.
Go get some therapy for your anger problem.
The funny thing is, Bono, you rail against Axl and his problems, but you CLEARLY have more issues than he does, especially how shitty you treat people.
