He didn't want to be on stage with Slash and didn't want to fuel the fires that this group would ever play again. I think the former really outweighed the latter, but that is my opinion.

Plus Myles was immensely entertaining as he struggled mightily to maintain a minimum acceptable level of performance.

Dude, Axl struggles to maintain a minimum acceptable level of performance on some songs.  They are hard songs to sing.
