Re: RRHoF Discussion (Izzy/Slash/Axl Press Statements)
Well it's an idiotic comment from steven because it's plainly false.
Like anyone who understands guitar can see that bumblefoot is one of the foremost technical guitarists in the world - so steven's chosen bumble's absolute strength as a place to attack him - which makes it an inane attack.
Agree or Not, but at least steven would have grounds to say that the new band "isn't GNR", or that people like frank and bumble are only famous because they ride on the legacy of people like steven. For the record I'm not saying I support that view, but there's at least rational grounds to argue it. But attacking bumble on his technical skills is just plain stupidly false.
I also agree things like this don't help a reunion. But that's because Adler's basically heartbroken he doesn't think straight and talks with his heart of his sleeve. On one hand I suspect he loves Axl for the times they had together keeping the band alive on the streets, on the other hand, he probably hates his guts for throwing him out of the band, blocking a reunion and keeping on as GNR without any other AFD line up guys left. Which response you get from him would change by the second because they are both true to him.
This is the rock n roll version of drunk dialing your exgirlfirend and saying something like "I fucking love you, I need you, but you left me you fucking whore bitch cunt, why can't you come back and love me you bitch. Who would love you anyway you fat fuck, awww, baby come back to me".
Illogical and unhelpful to his cause, but comes from the fucked up place he's in.
It is inane, but not just on BBF's reputation. Tommy is a damn fine bassist and songwriter, Frank is IMO as good if not better than Steven on drums, and Richard is very skilled player, too. DJ Ashba, like him or not, is a good lead guitar player and an accomplished songwriter in his own right. Chris Pitman is far more than just a keyboard/synth player, too.
Your drunk-dialing analogy is a good one.
I couldn't help but notice he heard that Izzy won't be showing up, too

Re: RRHoF Discussion (Izzy/Slash/Axl Press Statements)
Well guys, this is how you destroy any chance of a reunion gig at the HOF happening.
Yeah, basically.
This only serves to further my point that there is more than just the Axl and Slash dynamic at play in order to get a reunion. You need Izzy to show up and, apparently, you need Steven to shut the fuck up

Re: RRHoF Discussion (Izzy/Slash/Axl Press Statements)
Good for Steven.
I thought you wanted a HOF performance???
Slash just insulted Matt and Dizzy and Steven acts like a two year old and throws a tantrum, basically killing any chance for a performance to happen. Would you want to show up if he's going to act like an idiot? Even if there was a performance there's still a big chance he's still going to say/do something stupid.
Jesus, Steven is an idiot. I still think there was a good chance for something spontaneous to happen, but oh well...

Steven was my main thought of why Axl wouldn't want to do a performance. And I STILL thought there was a chance. But after that bitch fit... Bah...
This is going to be Blondie all over again, but possibly more embarrassing.

Yeah, and so now, after reading this quote about the current lineup, and the part, if it's true, about Izzy, how can anyone say it's all about Axl and him wanting to do a reunion for a reunion to actually happen?
There's more at play than just that, although that is by far the biggest piece, admittedly.

Re: RRHoF Discussion (Izzy/Slash/Axl Press Statements)
Now Matt will just fill in, just like before. Adler, what a dummy.
Re: RRHoF Discussion (Izzy/Slash/Axl Press Statements)
At this point, I'm seriously just looking forward that there's some interaction between Axl and Slash, hopefully they mend fences, at least to the point they could play a couple tunes together in the future. Even if Steven fucks things up.
Right now, I hope Axl, Slash, Duff and Izzy play at some Gn'R gig with Frank on drums for a few songs. There's no pressure there and no expectations. And no one to act like an ass.
This seriously pisses me off. He fucking blew it. I was psyched to see Axl and Slash in the same room together but there was still a chance. Not anymore. All he had to do was keep his mouth shut and there was a chance. Bullshit. Pure bullshit.
Re: RRHoF Discussion (Izzy/Slash/Axl Press Statements)
U think Axl takes Steven seriously? He knows what a retard he is.
Little weird Slash saying that about 2 other guys... but I kinda agree
Dizzy didn't "WRITE" anything on UYI.. simply played parts Axl wrote.. Any Keyboard plaer could've done that.. just like more than a handful of drummers could've drummed. Matt got lucky and won the job.

But he's still going to be there, man. There's a good chance he does something during the acceptance speech or during a performance, or even afterwards he does something to himself that will most likely have to do with self medicating. The latter is why I don't see Slash and Duff wanting to do it. It's just a clusterfuck.

Compared to GNR DJ doesn't have accomplished songwriting.. Tommy is a good bassist if u could only hear it and Listen to Catcher in the Rye and Bumble's all time terrible solo that completely fucks the song..
+1 Steven
