Re: GN'R returns to the UK
Nah, I think if the hoarders had something, they'd of leaked it by now for some reason or whatever.
I think there might be a few scattered tracks out there, and an official tracklist, but I think a common misconception with diehards is they think there's a vault full of 'finished' tracks. I highly doubt that.
There might be a half album's worth floating out there in demo form, including already heard stuff like a remix of Oh My God and Silkworms, along with a couple others which might not even have titles.
The rest of the vault imo are CD's with pieces and fragments sitting around either in Axl's house or studios across the world. Ever notice how pieced together CD sounded? Think of that multiplied by 3 or 4.

Is this old news? It sounds oddly familiar. If not, ouch!

CURRENT GUNS & ROSES LINEUP NOT FIT FOR READING AND LEEDS FESTIVALS
By Sally Bailey
Yesterday at 11:27am (Wed, 21 Mar 2012 11:27:57 +1100)
Melvin Benn, boss of Reading and Leeds Festivals obviously doesn't care about accruing brownie points with Guns & Roses. He has ruled out offering a place on either festival bills to the band as it currently stands.
As told to NME, Benn has ruled out the current lineup but would love the orginal lineup to play stating,
"I wouldn't have the current line-up, certainly not at the moment. It doesn't feel right," said Benn. "Of course if it was the original line-up, I would definitely consider it and if they could tell the time, it would be fantastic," he added. "With the original line-up it would be something very special. We'd have to give them all a watch each, but we'd certainly try to get them if they reformed."
Given the original Gunners lack of DVD nights and afternoon beer sessions, a reformation doesn't seem likely anytime soon. As such punters at both festivals will need to be content with headliners Foo Fighters, Kasabian and The Cure.
Re: GN'R returns to the UK
Melvin,
Don't give me that crap about lineups.
Axl threw a fit the last time around and called you out.
Axl went overtime the time before that and called you out.
Just to keep it real.
I think his point is, he'd be more apt to put up with that "crap" if the original guys were involved. But to him, this current lineup isn't worth it. Especially after the incidents from their last appearance.

Re: GN'R returns to the UK
Seems a weird comment to make now though, I don't think anybody really expected to see GNR at Leeds/Reading for the forseeable future anyway considering they only played last year. Why bothr bringing up something that's a total none issue for at least 3-4 years anyway. If there was a reunion my money would be on Glastonbury getting them anyway, more money exposure etc.
As a coincidental aside Mr Benn (lol) is supposedly a first class twat anyway going from people I know who have dealt with him.

according to Tommy, the vault consists of 22 recorded songs....and then a bunch of ideas...that is about as detailed as you can get presently.
""Stinson says that there’s “a bunch” of GNR material written and still waiting to be recorded - “some of it worthy of finishing, some of it probably not” - in addition to 22 songs recorded during the “Chinese Democracy” process that were not included on the album." - Tommy, 11/13/11

Re: GN'R returns to the UK
Thin Lizzy opening in the UK....NOW THAT'S A GOOD OPENER.
Is Fortus going to be playing with them? His fingers are going to be knackered.
Anyway, anyone going to the O2 gig? Want to grab a jar or several beforehand?
Re: GN'R returns to the UK
I'm guessing the Reading Festival guy just got asked the question in an interview and its been blown up into a big statement. GNR are coming to the UK, cant have a positive article in the press can we? There has barely been a word in the press and the little that has been said has been very very ugly indeed.
