Re: Rolling Stone Interview With Duff
What I don't get, is Axl JUST SAID in the Eddie Trunk interview that he'd do it, for the fans, because he knows they want it.
It could be Slash, but I don't buy it. And Izzy wouldn't break this imo.
He didn't say he'd perform. He said he wasn't sure what all that involved or what it would mean with the old band
I took it as he would be there. not that he'd perform

He implied a performance and how he thought about a reunion.

He fucking loves Guns N Roses and everything they did, it would close that chapter in his life, no way he would miss it.
Right and it also would give a hell of a shine on his new album and a big bump.
Exactly. I'd also add that knowing Slash and his feelings towards all the fake GN'R line-ups, he'd do ANYTHING to prove he was an essential and irreplacable part of Guns N' Roses, and he'd want to play the shit out of those songs. Just like he's doing it in solo - but in this case he'd have Axl's voice instead of Myles, so it'd be obvious even to the lead singer dependant masses that Slash is god. Believe me, nobody wants more this one-off reunion than Slash - that's why Axl doesn't wanna do it. Not to mention that his cover band would look pretty bad after playing with the real guys.

He didn't imply anything. He never said anything about performing. Not once, didn't even hint at it. YOU guys did, and so did I. You don't even know if Izzy is going to show up, but you're dead on certain Axl is the cause because of some tweet by an Izzy fan?
It's clear no one is making any moves or effort to make a performance happen. That came from DUFF.
And please, stop talking for Slash and what he wants BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW. The closer we get to this it looks like there's not going to be a performance and you guys are just setting it up to put the blame on Axl.

He loves everything they did? So why does he bag on SCOM and the UYI epics all the time?

Re: Rolling Stone Interview With Duff
I don't think it's either one of them, I think it's just stalemate.
Slash hasn't called Axl, and Axl hasn't called Slash, and neither of them is going to make the first move.
Traditionally I'd guess at this point Izzy would wrangle Axl, while Steve would be all in Slash's ear, then Duff would phone them all out of neutral ground and shit would get rolling.
But these days Izzy is deep in the Incan forest learning how to knit, while tomorrow he's sky diving on mars or whatever he does in his free time, and Duff, well, he just said he's no longer in the business of brokering deals between bandmates and if they don't want to do it on their own he's sure not going to be the dude who applies the pressure.
Thus nothing happens and nothing will happen for the show.
Then one of two things will happen. Either they'll be kept away from each other and not interact much in which case after the RRHOF speaches Slash will go on tour with myles and Axl with DJ. OR maybe they'll talk and make peace..in which case perhaps there's a chance of a reunion or something one day in the future...
But I don't think so.
Remember Slash tried to go back before in 97 or whenever it was...didn't work out...Axl's not changed...can't see the issues that prevent a reunion ever resolving.
Re: Rolling Stone Interview With Duff
Axl may be the obvious playing-live holdout, but I'd put good money on Izzy not even showing.
And Izzy is the one I'm most interested in seeing because he's been so secluded. Imagine he pops up. "Oh, that's what he looks like nowadays."

I wouldn't rule out a brawl.
