I like it

agree on the intro... not the greatest... almost feels like maybe myles wrote it or something but overall i love the riff he plays leading into the chorus..

The lyrics and melodies are good, Easy to relate to the subject.

First listen, i like it

now to clarify.. if this is the BEST song on the album could be disappointing but hopefully like Tattoo on van Halen... it will just be radio friendly but nowhere near the best.

I disagree. Slash's current sound is very different from the likes of AFD or UYI. His "modern rock" sound isn't anywhere near as unique as the more blues driven sound that he created back in the day. Axl's voice wouldn't change the fact that this new sound just isn't up to snuff with the classic material. Besides, Axl's voice isn't up to snuff these days either. Mix them together and you've got a shitty "modern" version of the GN'R sound.

You can still hear the blues influence in his soloing though. That guitar solo in the middle is very slash.

And while this song is a little more modern rocker - if you add Axl to something like "Watch This!" I don't think it would be dissimilar to Locomotive. Meanwhile something like "Back From Cali" or "By the Sword" would definitely be similar to a lies track with Axl lyrics and vocal techniques added to it.

I love the old songs as much as anyone, but at times we mythologise them I think - when you take just the guitar parts - something like It's So Easy or My Michelle isn't really all that far removed from Snakepit 1 or indeed m any of the riffs on Slash's solo album. It's the presence of Axl, and Duff, that's really making the absence so obvious to me.

Yes, the solo is definitely Slash. Hands down the best part of the song. The chorus sounds like Nickelback. That's not a compliment.

I just hope Slash comes to Perth, I had to fly to Sydney For the last bloody solo tour.
