It's fun having these little snippits of the recording process.

I have a lot of faith in this record. Myles has the vocal chops. The band has been playing together for long enough to have some chemestry, and slash has been playing better than ever before at the moment.

I think it has the chance of being some of Slash's best work.

Although I will say, watched a VR boot yesterday, and I do miss Duff. Not that his current bass guy isn't great...but there's something about putting duff with Slash's sound that creates a sense of awe.

Some great personalities in there. Those guys are more of a band than GNR. I love the way the practically unknown Bass and Guitarist are given good camera time.

As Much as I salted the living shit out of you're a lie, I cannot wait to hear this album.

Hmm...that interview furthers my "Slash isn't getting on with Duff and Matt and that's why VR is in limbo" theory...maybe I'm reading too much into it...but just the way he talked about how this band doesn't compare to GNR or VR because it's all so democratic and everyone has input...

Probably just a Scott thing man. But in the interest of idle shopping que gossip, Slash hasn't been seen with Duff since Duff opened for GNR

Really? Was that more recent than the VR mini-reunion? I loose track.

I know i've been pushing my conspiracy theory for a while.

But it's just like a few things don't add up to me.

Like:

1. Myles Kennedy is the guy Matt wanted as lead singer.
Apparently he isn't in VR because he's with alterbridge, but yet has time to record a full album with slash and do multiple world tours. There's zero reason that the same on-off-season approach to Slash/Alterbridge couldn't have been done with VR/Alterbridge.

2. The song "Ghost" previously existed as a VR demo. I can't find it, but there's an interview with Duff where he said something like "I know Slash has been keen to do these songs for a long time" or something like that about the solo album. Might be reading too much into that but it does make me wonder if slash has packed up his non-used VR riffs into the solo album. Much like he took his non-used GNR riffs and made them into Snakepit 1.

3. Ok so maybe VR can't find a singer. But they have a massive well known brand with the original success of contraband. If they all get on well.. Why not have produced all those Slash solo songs as VR material with guest singers. Would have cleared the palate after scott. VR's follow up to libertad would have been an all guest star album. To me this would maintain VR's "supergroup" status too. As the problem with an unknown front man replacing scott was you go from STP/GNR blend to scott-lite/GNR. But that wouldn't have happened with the guest spots from ozzy, fergie, lemmy etc. It would legit still be an all star album and group. So i can't stop thinking....if you are slash...why doesn't this idea get floated in VR? Why take the same songs and go through the trouble of finding a new bass player/rhythm guitar and drummer...then make an album of songs you had ready to go....

To me it all boils down to some kind of personality conflict. Not saying they hate each other. But I'm thinking maybe they can't agree on anything anymore, and it's all got too hard for slash being the kind of shy guy he is and so he's just hit the road on his own.
