Always loved that song. I felt it could've easily been on the next original GN'R album as an actual GN'R song, except with the tag "feat. Lenny Kravitz", and then just have Axl do backup vocals on the chorus similar to Dust N' Bones & 14 Years.

I remember Slash saying that, I guess, elements of the song started out as a GN'R song but said he thought it was too funky for GN'R so he didn't show it to the band. I don't know if Slash wrote the music and gave it to Lenny, or not.
