Oh and btw, ID is right. Houston's National Anthem was lip synched. It's amazing how the media always uses that image of her beautiful voice NOT singing live.

I thought Houston was known for years for been a shit live singer?

Lip syncing or not, it's the best performance of the song ever IMO with Kelly Clarkson just now being a close second. Everything about Carrie Underwood, least of all being her vocal quality overall, is a far far far far far cry from either Kelly or Whitney.

16 You can't have the "best performance ever" if you fucking lip sync the song. It's bullshit. And Kelly, like Whitney has the benefit of additions. In Kelly's case a drumline and an entire choir yet she is all over the place with it fluttering up and down and wherever she wants to go. Carrie is the only one who did it properly, suck to the meldoy in a  way that people could sing along to and it was just her voice belting it out.

And what do you mean "everything about Carrie Underwood, least of all her vocal quality overall is a far far far far cry from either Kelly or Whitney"?  Like what she's not as good a person or as pretty?

This is most definitely not better than Carrie Underwood's version

Chris Daughtry did a good version of it.

I think we can all agree that this one is at least the worst one ever. She even says "Thank You" at the end.  16

^^ Yeah the vocal gymnastics is terrible.  TBH I think stars do it as a publicity stunt sometimes, to create buzz.  Think about it, Aguilera had a new show, did a bad job, people talked about her.  Steven Tyler, on American Idol, does a bad job, people talk about it.  Last years Idol country winner (Scotty McCreary?), probably had an album coming out & sang some anti-immagrant slur into his a few months back which created buzz.

Sorry for getting off topic.  I do think Eddie Vedder did an admirable job on this, I cam aacross it a few months back

Steven Tyler's "terrible" National Anthem was grossly exaggerated.

Listen it's Steven fucking Tyler. He made a living on being an arena rock vocal God.

He's not Freddie Mercury.

Steven did just fine, and then people bitched that he screamed it. Had Tyler went up there and sang it like Adele, then they'd of bitched "where's Steven Tyler?"

I didn't get all the negativity rained down on him for that.

Update on Whitney:

Saw El DeBarge on Inside Edition last night talking about his meeting/embrace with Whitney the night (or the night before) she died, and you could still how overcome and lost she was in her eyes.

DeBarge claimed Whitney asked him to help her get clean and that if they teamed up, they could both beat it together.

Take it for what it's worth.

As for my opinion, I think DeBarge was being sincere. You could see the clip of them and the look in Whitney's eyes was tragic and sad. She looked like a terrified child finding an old friend in a rainstorm. Maybe i'm reading too much into it, but i've read people (and good) for years, and she looked like a person that sadly knew she was at the end.

Do you think some mother fucker in Japan or Argentina gives a shit that Michael Jackson sold out shows in fuckin' London?

NO

His fanbase cared, yeah. But the world did not come to a standstill because Michael Jackson was doing a farewell tour.

Does anybody remember this guy used to have the power that the entire world stopped what they were doing to go to MJ live to talk about his penis?

THAT was the power MJ USED to have. By 2009, it was a "popcorn fart" as Lofton would call it.

Yeah but by your standards, Everyone sucks then.

People from all over the world were attending those shows.. Not just people from UK. 50 shows?

If he announced a US Tour, shit would've sold out in seconds.
