Re: VR Cancels Australian Tour
The official statement from KWS Productions reads as follows: "VELVET REVOLVER regret to announce they're unable to perform their five upcoming concert dates in Australia that were scheduled for February 15-20. The cancellation of these shows will allow lead singer Scott Weiland to continue treatment at a rehab facility which he voluntarily entered after the band's February 6 performance in Los Angeles. VELVET REVOLVER deeply apologize to their fans in Australia and thank them for sticking by the group when various members have relapsed during the last year and a half. The band '” lead vocalist Scott Weiland, guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Dave Kushner '” are on track to perform at the Dubai Desert Rock Fest in Dubai, UAE on March 8, to be followed by their UK tour March 15-27."
Tickets can be taken back to point of purchase for a refund.

Re: VR Cancels Australian Tour
VR is officially over.
I should have went to one of their shows. Had a good opportunity last year, but wanted to see all of M.I.A.'s shows in Frisco instead. They played Frisco a few days ago, but with all the turmoil going on, I figured they wouldn't show up. Brokenglassncigs said Weiland was falling off the stage and looked dead, so I'm glad I missed out on that one.
I wasn't much of a fan, only liked a few songs, but still regret not seeing them.

Re: VR Cancels Australian Tour
Sorry for doubling up threads, but there wasn't one here when I typed up mine.
I'm pretty pissed off right now. The band should tour here anyway without him.
I'd be happy with Duff on vocals and them playing a bunch of covers. I was so looking forward to seeing Slash again...
Re: VR Cancels Australian Tour
This pretty much ends my support of VR. There's no way I can bother thinking about buying tickets to shows & making plans when Weiland is continuously dragging this band down. Isn't this the 2nd time they've recently cancelled on Australia? Slash is so huge right now, he really needs to find another creative partner to make music with to capitalize on his fame. Time for Slash to wash his hands of Weiland.
Re: VR Cancels Australian Tour
EXCELLENT point about Slash. He is literally at a major high point in his career, and doesn't need all these distractions fucking that up.
If they cant find a replacement or not interested in finding one, its time for Slash to enter the Santana phase of his career.
