I think ID is right. She performed it live in a studio days earlier& lip synced it at the SB. All eyes were on that SB & no one wanted mistakes.
That was a pretty good lip synching job then. Just saw Chris Brown do a terrible job of lip synching at the Grammy's.

Yeah, he sucked. Rhianna was great imo. Rhianna & Coldplay sucked. Katie Perry was pretty bad, and Nicky Minaj sucked. Funny watching Lady Gaga all dressed up & winning nothing. I hope these girls go away quick. Sorry for hijacking the thread.
Carrie Underwoods National Anthem was good, but uninspired after a while. Yeah, she sang it note for note, basically how you would expect a decent American Idol contestant to sing it.

So I researched this and apparently the Super Bowl has a history of forcing the performers to pre-record it because the song is considered too important to be screwed up on such a big stage. Apparently it has even happened in recent years. My question: was Clarkson's performance this year also pre-recorded?
Meanwhile, apparently Whitney's family thinks her daughter might be suicidal and they are trying to get professional help for her.
