Re: Whitney Houston Dead at 48
RIP
Best wishes to her friends and family. Too young.
Have very clear memories of watching "The Bodyguard" and that soundtrack in the 90s.
Re: Whitney Houston Dead at 48
Yes 48 is much too young for anyone to go but the "shock" being expressed by so many people on all types of outlets from all over the world is so fake. There is NOTHING shocking about this at all. My initial reaction was "really, sounds about right". Is it sad? Yes. Shocking? Absolutely not.
Re: Whitney Houston Dead at 48
Michael Jackson was shocking.
Because it came out of left field. Not only was Jacko yesterday's news (even his "This Is It" announcement, at least in the U.S. was met with yawns)
When he died, it was blindsided.
When I got the news Whitney died, the person who told me was freaking and I responded, "seriously? I would've thought this would've happened 10 years ago. I'm stunned it took this long."
When Corey Haim died, everyone's reaction was "Seriously? I thought that dude was already dead."
I would've thought Whitney would've been met with the same reaction.

Agreed.

50 sold-out shows in the London O2 arena, with record-making box office - all in advance.
The US opinion in these things is often met with yawns in Europe, thank you very much.
