YEah i would have loved a full movie.
Although it depends on the kind of sequel.
If it was imaginative and cool and actually explored what the characters might do in later life and discussed what it's like being an adult the way the first captured the teenage experience then it would be awesome.
But I could also see it being a shake by numbers movie where everything that happened in the first one finds an exact reason to be replicated.
Sort of like how The Hangover was an original fun movie, but the second one was just the same plot points happening in a new place.
So I don't want adult ferris to sing on a float again, steal a ferrari. I want adult ferris to do something that for an adult is as cool as singing on that float and driving that car was to the teenager.

It's fun...but it's kinda a step down from a ferrari - but then I guess this is mathew's day off not ferris'

IMO the ship sailed looong ago for the sequels for iconic teen films like Ferris, Breakfast Club,etc. All the actors are in the 45-50 range & its absurd & not worth it, not even for nostalgia.
1995-2000 was when the window was open and closed.

In my opinion if done right Ferris Bueller is the ONLY one of that genre from the 80's that could have an entertaining sequel with the original cast. You could literally apply it to his professional life. As for the Breakfast Club as much as I love it(one of my favs ever) there's no fucking way a sequel would've ever worked for that. It'd have to be an all new cast cause where in life other than hgh school do you get detention or a detention like scenario? haha. I can't see any of the teen comedys working as sequels other than Ferris Bueller. I think this commercial gives a little insight as to how it could really work.
