Voting off American Man. It's a boring mess of a song. To -D-'s point though, Catcher is another example of the demo outshining the final product. Nonetheless, I still like CITR better.

I haven't heard Contraband on its full form, so I'm using the face offs to do so... This American Man song is pretty dull...
I don't know, sometimes Axl makes perfect sense on not wanting to do Slash's material.. If songs like this (and many many others) get to be RELEASED, I imagine all the things that gets thrown as "the next big thing"...
Anyway, voted Catcher that I agree the demo sounds better but even Silkworms is better than AM.

American Man's a very good song, although the chorus could have been better. The main riff is a monster, one of the bests in the past decade.

So goodbye boring CITR.

U gotta separate Scott from the guitar work though. This song has some fantastic guitar work.

Yeah, I can see on this and some other songs great guitar moments from Slash. what bugs me the most is the overall song structures. I don't know how to express it, but they don't sound "fresh", you know?
I haven't heard anything from Slash and Duff that got me the way I was gotten the first time I've heard "Better".
Some of Izzy songs get me all goosebumps even when it's hard not to imagine the Axl touch on them.
The most Slash got me was on the first Snakepit album (a few moments) and on his solo album with Gotten and By The Sword... but no goosebumps there! 16

American Man GTFO

Catcher is the better song, but the Brian Man 1999 demo is FAR superior to the album version.
