Re: Rob Zombie in talks to remake Conan

If the idea of Rob Zombie directing a remake of 'Halloween' had your scratching your noggin - personally, I think that turned out OK; I thought Zombie's 'Halloween', for the most part anyway, was one of the more worthwhile horror remakes I've seen - then get this : The shock rocker is now in talks to direct the new 'Conan' movie!

According to Bloody Disgusting, Zombie is taking meetings with Nu Image and Lions Gate, the dual shingles behind the relaunch of the 'Barbarian', about possibly being the man to give audiences their first Schwarzenegger-less 'Conan' movie (Does this mean Danny Trejo's in with a chance to play the sword-yielding hero? Yes, Conan has muscles'¦ just not sure about those tattoos).

Initially, original "Conan" planned to bring Schwarzenegger back for one more "Conan" movie, "King Conan". The studio had other ideas though - most notably, they wanted a remake.

HAHA so now Zombie will be the official person people pick to bring back old series' that have been dormant for years?

I mean if he does it too much, it loses he loses his integrity of what he has done.   He definitely should be waiting a bit before he tries to jumpstart another series.

This is old, misinformed news. Allegedly, Zombie took meetings with "Conan" producers alongside several other genre directors. He passed. His next movie is the original property "Tyrannosaurus Rex" which is being produced as part of his development deal with Dimension. Well, technically his next movie is "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto," which is finishing up post now that he's off tour.

Whew, thank God. I forget what article it is but I know it was around the time his remake of Halloween was being released, he said in the future he wants to make a western movie. That would be interesting to see what he could do with that, I can definitely see people in his previous movies play characters in a western movie.

The western was supposed to be the next film, yes. He briefly even flirted with the idea of a feature length "Werewolf Women of the S.S." I like the idea of this original story, but I too still want to see a western. Then again, who knows what T. Rex is even about?
