VELVET REVOLVER fires SCOTT WEILAND?

We here at www.theMETALreport.com find this rumor very interesting and fitting considering Mr. Weiland is back in rehab and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS have made tour dates for this summer. Check back for more on this story.
I seriously doubt it but whatever... Slash was just outta rehab last year and rumours floated round that Duff and Matt were also in rehab a couple years ago, so i seriously doubt that recovering addicts themselves would fire scott...but the plot thickens...

Its believable because they are trying to support their album on tour, and also have to deal with the fact he is going back to STP in the next few months.
However the cookie crumbles, Weiland's decisions do not benefit this band one iota.
Maybe instead of breaking up, they decided to fire Weiland and fulfill their contract by getting a replacement.
With a new singer, bring on a new album. VR averaged 2 good songs a record, and I would imagine they could at least slightly improve on that with a different singer.

yeah i read reviews that Weialnd has been increasingly worse at VR shows this time out
and another thing...when he was arrested in November he took a breathalizer and not a urine test...whats that tell ya? 
anway i still doubt the fired him
the VR situation is reaching critical proportions though...they need to make an official statement .... and soon

If the band minus Weiland fels good about continuing forward with someone new, then I am all for it. I do not hate Weiland. STP is one of my all time fave bands. I just think it was never a good combination.
If its as bad as it looks, I do agree that they need to make a statement soon. ALL these guys in the band have a substantial fanbase collectively and separately, so whatever decision they do make is unlikely to cause a backlash. Fans will accept whatever fate is in store.
Slash, Duff, and Sorum have amazing potential in whatever they do. I hope they continue on in some capacity. If Weiland is gone, I can also live without Dave.
Unlikely, but if Weiland is toast and they want to move forward, if Justine Frischmann is out of her hermit mode, give her a call. Great singer, songwriter, and guitarist.

Maybe they will figure out what track they should get that freight train on...The last record which I thought was brilliant was also obviously a swan song, it was a compromise of style between them and Scot. Ain't that freedom paralyzing when you take the middle road? These guys have yet to take a chance on something better, radical or rebel, all the things that made them them? They just flirt with it....Disturbing I think disturbs them to much. Scot was never that much of a risk, but if they listened carefully to the camps converge it should have been illuminating to where they should go next if they are really roses. Scot was always the only one who stood to benefit from this arrangement...There is hope for him yet. What you got Duff, do you gotta new rose yet? don't think he ever got that song....Don't know what it means? Just a few thoughts that spring to mind on the time line for where this train went of the tracks. Not just for them but the entire industry.... 1995, give it a minute and we will have 14 years of silence despite all the noise. You go your way i will go mine? It's not going to go down that way brothers, it never was....this was never going to be anything but temporary.

Wow....i wonder what the truth of this is. I can't help but think maybe its wishful thinking on the part of those fans who never liked scott all that much. I doubt the VR boys would fire him if he went to rehab, they are all about rehab these days.
Be interesting to see what becomes of the aussie tour in a few days.
