Re: So.... What's Next?
Why do they damn him? He just spoke a peace of mind. He didn't do anything.
He's Axl Rose
He's the singer the world deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll castigate him, because he can take it. Because he's not our singer. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A dark knight.
Re: So.... What's Next?
More shit talkin....
When asked how soon fans can expect to hear a new GUNS N' ROSES album, Ashba replied, "I can't give anybody a definite date, because I'm not gonna give anybody false hope. But what I can say is [making a new album] absolutely is our main priority. And I cannot wait to get [working on it]. I mean, Axl [Rose, GN'R lead singer] has tons and tons of stuff recorded as it is. I mean, he sits there in his hotel room and he'll play me hours of stuff. And I've written over ten songs — I think 12 songs now — for him that he really likes. And I think now that we're off tour, we're gonna kind of start talking about, 'Hey, let's start piecing together what we feel would be the next best GUNS N' ROSES record.' It's absolutely everybody's goal to get out an album within a reasonable amount of time. That is everybody's focus."

I don't understand. How in your estimation is that talking shit? He's stating that there is a lot of existing material and he's written some songs.
That's cool to me

Re: So.... What's Next?
I think we played this game from 1997 to 2007. This time, shit or get off the pot.
O.k. I see what you're saying. But, I don't think DJ is being disingenuous in what's saying. How it pans out and how long it takes to pan out is another question. But, I'd love to hear a song with melodic lead guitar playing like "Ballad of Death" and Axl's vocals.

Re: So.... What's Next?
Interesting to know he's written 12 songs for Axl now.
Don't want to get carried away...but at the same time I wonder if DJ might be the guy who gets the ball rolling again. I mean while Axl writes some amazing things on his own, it also seems a lot of his classics evolved from him adding his touch to music that was started by Izzy/Slash/Paul etc.
I feel that live DJ was the missing piece of the puzzle, it would be cool if with him in the band he could finish the CD2 songs and write these new ones and we could wind up with a lot more material. Depending on what happens with the business side I guess.

That is FANTASTIC if true. 'Cause if Axl likes it, that means he'll put it the fuck out and asap imo.
I think that's been the biggest stagnation of Axl is that the stuff that doesn't inspire him, he doesn't give a fuck about releasing it, nor will he be pushed into it by the label or fans, per the 2011 TMS interview.
If Axl likes the stuff DJ is writing, that is GREAT news. 2012 might see another rock album on the list of already amazing rock artists putting albums out.

Personally I think he might be the guy to give Axl the encouragement to get the show on the road. Say what you want about DJ; but the guy knows how to play his cards right. The guy knows how the music business works nowadays and teaming up with Axl & the guys is going to be magical. He's had a great success with the recent SIXX AM record and the single charts for "The Lies" were very strong. I hear Skin and a few other songs from it are doing well too. A good hard rock sound on radio and some music videos will help alot. He can give that edge to make sure that material sells even though Better, Chinese, and Street could of have huge on radio and retail singles from Hot Topic or other places given the proper treatment. Chinese did pretty good on iTunes when it was first release to the nearing weeks of the album's release. The problem is if DJ finds out that Sixx AM isn't going to be a touring band then he should get into promoting Guns more and getting fans pumped. Selling Guns related merch wouldn't be a bad thing either. The guy is a business man as well as a musician trying to make a living. I respect that. Speaking of Paul Tobias, I just want to know what the hell is going on with him. He shows up a ton on Chinese which is awesome since he was on the project from the beginning.
