There were a few trailers for this movie around the same time as the remake of Halloween.  Looked like it may be good, I think it was going to be a few short tales kind of like a Creepshow type of thing but all dealing in Halloween themed tales.  Anybody know what happened with this?  I think it may have made it to theaters but I haven't heard anything about a dvd release.

It got delayed last year. Will probably be in theaters either this coming Halloween, unless they change their mind and just go straight to DVD.

I was also looking forward to this. They were afraid to compete with Saw, but it will be the same this year.

Thankfully the Saw machine seems to be losing steem. I mean, still a wildly lucrative horror franchise, but studios need to step up the competition if they ever want to broaden the genre's fanbase. There's a limited window of opportunity for a truely successful theatrically run horror movie, and that's the Halloween season. Sure, teenie bopper Jessica Alba remakes can open in no man's land winter, but this past October was one of the most pathetic on record for horror fans. What happened to the zeitgeist of 2003? This promised revolution that never got off the ground? I feel we've sunk lower than the 90s, and that's saying a lot. Bottom line, Trick 'r Treat looks badass. It really does. I would have liked to seen it this past Halloween, but let's hope they can hold out for a proper theatrical release next Halloween. I'm sorry if I offend any fans of the series, but fuck Saw. I'm sad to see that as this generation's Friday the 13th.
