Court: Spears' Dad Has Temporary Control
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The father of Britney Spears was named her temporary conservator Friday, putting him in control of her welfare a day after she was whisked to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
While James Spears was named conservator of the troubled pop star herself, he and an attorney, Andrew Wallete, were named conservators of her estate. The singer's mother, Lynne Spears, also showed up for the unannounced hearing in Superior Court.
The court also issued a restraining order against Britney Spears' sometimes manager and friend, Sam Lutfi, and gave permission to change the locks on her estate and remove anyone who is there.
A court creates conservatorships when a person cannot care for themselves or handle their affairs. Commissioner Reva Goetz said Spears would be under conservatorship until Feb. 4, at which time another hearing will be held.
"It is in the best interests of the conservatee to have conservatorship over her person," Goetz told a packed courtroom.
The conservator will have the power to "restrict visitors," have around-the-clock security for Spears, and have access to all medical records, Goetz said.
Goetz said conservatorship over the estate was "necessary and appropriate." She gave approval for the conservator to "take all actions to secure all liquid assets including credit cards."

I've been saying for a couple years now that she burnt her brain out on meth. As the story unfolds people can now see that.
That means the patient is unable to take care of basic needs, such as the acquisition of food, clothing or shelter.
Thats because she has no brain left. The only reason this chick isn't sucking dick in an alley for a quarter of meth is because she got rich and famous before she became an addict.
She'll always be like this. Once you get so far gone on that drug, there's no going back. The effects are permanent. All she can hope for at this point is not going broke.
I have always believed this too. I believe this solely because she failed the court order for amphetamines. Now her parents have control of her and her money now. I am glad Lufti is out of the picture, she was out her mind when she let him into her life.
This needed to happen. See they'll protect her and never say her brain became mush because of meth. They will always say she bipolar. My cousin is bipolar and he isn't like this. He is on heavy drugs, makes him stare wildly but he has a wife and kids and I am not saying he isn't nuts cuz he is but he isn't like this.
Plus all the people that came forward and said that she was taking drugs. The bodyguard and one of her assistants. The guy in Vegas she married, he said he partied with her for 24 hours and did drugs with her. So I tend to believe this.

There's no sense in them denying it anymore. The cat is already out of the bag. Quiet awhile back some chick said that Britney stands in her room while smoking meth with a mountain of it piled on her dresser while someone else takes care of her kids. I knew back then that the old Britney was never coming back.

I've been out of my mind fucked up before and did some dumb shit, fortunately it was on rare occassion. With Britney it isn't rare occasion it's the norm. She's totally and without question fried beyond repair.

Never heard the Meth rumor James. I must agree few ever repair the circuitry damage caused by hard Meth use, it tends to be permanent. what a shame. That also explains the combo of symptoms she is exhibiting, So many kids across America don't get away from this epidemic crazy behavior, in light of this revelation (if its true) it all makes sense to me now, surprising it did not show up in a toxicology report.
We called Franklin Avenue Cranklin Avenue in Hollywood. It was really sick miles and miles of high rises with floors and floors of people strung out on Meth. It was absolutely Surreal.
Maybe Federline will be able to get a job after all this exposure so Britney is not stuck being his meal ticket. I doubt they have as of yet gained full control over her estate and health care in a long term sense but it sounds like it might be coming. No wonder she didn't want to show up at the depositions, she saw her life unwinding as it is. Alimony alimony paying his bills, when her conscious hits she knocks it back with pills. Strange twist on the same old song and dance....

Britney Spears Leaves Psychiatric Ward Despite her parent's protests...

The doctor overseeing the troubled singer's care wanted Brit to remain in hospital, but the decision was overridden by the courts, according to insiders.
A court representative found "no just cause" for the hold, a source tells People.
The pop wreck's early release prompted her frustated parents, Jamie and Lynne, to release the following statement, expressing their fear for their daughter's safety:
'As parents of an adult child in the throws of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."
Last night, it was as if the trip to the psych ward never happened, with Brit checking briefly into the Beverly Hills hotel with the usual hoards of paparazzi in tow.

I saw a headline today at the store that said Brittney was hooked on crystal meth. Was she doing that drug to help her lose weight?
