Prob is, most people are vocal/lyric/melody listeners.
Slash post GNR work gets downgraded due to the vocalist he has worked with cause most can't block out that and only listen to guitar work.
New GNR guitar work gets overrated for same reason reversed. Axl's vocals, melodies make New GNR songs great cause it is Axl. but DL mogg files, mute Axl and listen.... U could be listening to a Meal Loaf record.

Neither has Axl.
Wrong. SOD, TWAT & This I Love are all very comparable to anything off of the UYI albums. TWAT even has a solo in it i'd hold up to anything Slash ever recorded solo-wise in GN'R.
Other than MAYBE "Messages", Slash hasn't recorded anything post-1991 that compares to his work in DC, NR & Estranged.
I hear this and i think people get that prisoner of the moment mentality and don't fully realize what they are comparing.
Listen to Twat, then go listen to SCOM,Estranged,NR Come back and make that statement.
I used to say similar stuff till i dusted off AFD and UYI's
Realized how much in error i was.

I think I like the hidden track at the end better.

Did what you said
The TWAT solo is better than November Rain.
Even still.
And frankly i'm not ranking them. I think they all equally rule. But like Tejas, I believe the TWAT solo is the only guitar work on CD that was comparable to old Guns, meaning Slash. I mean that as a total compliment to Slash. There's nothing wrong with putting Bucket & Slash into the same league, it just means they're both good. I'm not down with this, "to love one, you've gotta hate the other". Fuck that.
There's also another two hidden GREAT Bucket solos on Shackler's & Street of Dreams, but it's so fuckin' buried in the mix, because CD was intended by Axl apparently to be a piano/orchestra-driven album, and not guitar-driven.

Woah, better than November Rain? No way.
I'd rather be in a threesome with Rosie O' Donnel and Queen Latifah than admit that.

I agree but there's nothing wrong with saying who you prefer. I like Slash better but own Buckethead albums. Colma and Electric Tears are two of my favorite albums ever. they probably get more play than any Gn'R album simply cause I love chillin out to them. I like Buckthead but he's done nothing he's done under the Gn'R banner holds a candle to Slash's contributions from my perspective.
Its strange how as Gn'R fans and music fans in general our opinions can vary so much. Clearly some people think the TWAT solo is the fucking shit where as I just hear it as a bunch of nothing really. For me it's jsuta solo for the sake of a solo that adds nothing to the song. But then again the overall song is boring in my opinion so....

And these kinds of contributions mean fuck all to me. Yeah they might be cool but If you need to peel off the layers to find it, it doesn't count. It's like saying some chick is the hottest chick ever but nobody is allowed to see her. Great. She may be but if we can't see her it doesn't mean much does it.

November Rain solo is good but not that good. I'd rather admit the TWAT solo is better:haha:
