Re: Sorum Says Velvet Revolver Are Eyeing Potential New Singer
I thought the whole point of not working out with Scott was because he watered their sound down (along with other ego clashes and drug problems), and the VR guys want to go back to their original style, and make a heavy rock album?
I don't seem them doing that with a moody indie alternative style singer like this Jimmy Gnecco guy...
Fuck that, get John Corabi or someone else with some balls and grit behind their voice.

The singer out of butterfly effect would be wicked good singer and good to watch live
Good idea!
Clint Boge is a powerhouse of a vocalist, but maybe VR are too classic sounding for their styles to suit each other.

Not steer the convo off topic, but the Butterfly Effect are one of Australia's best bands!
The more I think about it, he could make some interesting modern heavy rock with VR

Myles sings them at least as good as DJ plays them. Far better than Robin did. Enough is enough, if GN'R can play those songs without Slash, then other singers can sing those songs, too. It's like replacing Jimmy Page in Led Zeppelin - you just can't, but for the average listener, Robert Plant would be missed more.
I find it funny though that some 'new band fans' here get ecstatic when this line-up is playing another old Slash song. Another boards were celebrating not only Estranged and Civil War, but the rumoured Perfect Crime in the setlist. Hey, this happens if you can't write anything that comes close to those songs. Not even is 17 years with a hundred hired musicians.Anyway, this Gnecco guy is great, and I agree with Smoking, he reminds me of Rocco. I wouldn't mind if VR would change their style a bit, and that could easily happen since without Scott, they are not forced to write STP riffs.
I would LOVE to hear some guy belting out great GN'R tunes, with Slash, Izzy, Duff & Matt backing them. I'd love to have two GNR's running around. Just more shit to listen to.
I just think all of the ones they've chosen SUCK.
They'd be better served getting a GN'R cover band singer than the utter crap they've ran out there since 2004.
Corey was the choice. Flat out.

Boring, redundant, modern rock radio dime a dozen sounding. fake poseur tough guy presence on stage. Fuck that!
I'd rather Myles and Scott than that guy.
That dude from Butterfly Effect sounds pretty cool although I hated the first clip and almost didn't listen to the other two but he sounds good(not in the first clip though)
