Re: Guns N Roses OFFICIALLY inducted into Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
I think it makes the most sense, because now you're seeing these people from that era get in, and with GNR's first ballot induction, Metallica is already in, you're seeing history write down who's gonna be remembered for defining that decade.
They're gonna take over for awhile on the Rock Hall, and having peers shows solidarity. It's no longer the "old folks" home with the music making the cut.
If it's not them, take your pick or combo from this list...

Roger Taylor
Alice Cooper
Mick Jagger

I agree with all of this and I think your'e right. It's gonna be somone from that list or maybe Metallica. My guess is it will be a Tyler/Perry or Jager/Richards combo but I'll lean towards Tyler/Perry

HBO will be airing it this year from what I understand. That's why I'm gonna take one shot at getting face value tickets. If I don't, I'll live and watch it on HBO.
Russ, or anyone else, what do you know about ordering tickets? I read they could sell out quickly (which I'd imagine) and that there's a 2 ticket limit per order. I've got 3 people, including me, so I guess I'd have to try for 4 and find someone else willing to make the trip, or sell it. That's IF I could get tickets. Where is the ceremony in Cleveland exactly, as in what's the seating capacity?

I thought about Elton, but to me... that's unfair to the other guys. I'm sure every single one of them has their idea of who they'd like up there. And unlike in the past, Axl isn't gonna just be able to throw his weight around.
This will be the first unified ACTUAL BAND thought they'd had to make in over 20 years, assuming the original 5.
Imo they're all gonna want different guys.
My guess is ultimately it'll come down to either agreeing Metallica or Aerosmith or maybe even Alice Cooper to represent them.
You know what would be incredibly funny to me?
Duff, because of the Seattle thing... coerces Krist Novoselic to induct them.

Then Axl needs to get over it. (yeah I know)
He's gonna have to deal with that fact. The Hall will play up that the last real rock band is going into the Hall. And that means the singer/guitarist thing will be played up.
It's unavoidable.
Axl Rose and Slash were practically the younger brothers of Steven & Joe.
I just assumed James & Lars would be the best options. They knew the band the most, come from the same era, and both of them ESPECIALLY Lars remain HUGE fan boys of them, just like Alice In Chains.

Yeah, I get that. Obviously, Steven Adler himself says Slash and Axl are like Tyler/Perry or Jagger/Richards. But after all this time, I think that might detract from the fact that the original five would be back together for one night instead of the focus solely being on Axl and Slash.
