Re: Guns N Roses OFFICIALLY inducted into Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

Someone at mygnr suggested Brandon Flowers (from The Killers). I'd be ok with that.
That'd be weird I think. It's such an odd connection and just cause Axl introduced them at an award show I don't think he should induct Gn'R. I have a hard time seeing why Brandon Flowers would induct Gn'R. I can't imagine they were in anyway influenced by Guns N' Roses or were even that big of fans of Guns. I'd see Brandon Flowers as a better fit for like Depeche Mode or someone. I don't know... seems to odd a fit to me. I'd have a hard time believing he's being genuine about it to be honest. Not that he doesn't like Gn'R but just that he probably never really cared one way or the other. I could be wrong though.
Guns N' Roses have long been called "the Rolling Stones of their generation" so maybe Mick Jager... now that'd be awesome. Imagine you were inducted into the RRHOF and Mick Jager is the one to introuduce you into the hall.
Re: Guns N Roses OFFICIALLY inducted into Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
The person making the argument mentioned Chris Martin and Brandon Flowers so out of those two, I'd much prefer Flowers.
I agree with the reasoning as to why certain people induct certain bands but these two suggestions make me think the person who's suggesting them but have smoked a little too much crack. If anything The Killers and Coldplay were influenced by U2 not Guns N' Roses. Maybe they were I just dont' see the connection to be honest other than Axl said he likes them as guys. I don't even recall Axl mentioning their music. The Killers and Brandon Flowers(solo) have covered U2 songs and have performed with U2 and have opend for U2. I don't see a connection to Gn'R though whatsoever Not in their music at least.
James Hetfield and/or Lars Ulrich will induct Guns.
Write it down
ya think they'd get one of their peers to induct them?
Re: Guns N Roses OFFICIALLY inducted into Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
I think it makes the most sense, because now you're seeing these people from that era get in, and with GNR's first ballot induction, Metallica is already in, you're seeing history write down who's gonna be remembered for defining that decade.
They're gonna take over for awhile on the Rock Hall, and having peers shows solidarity. It's no longer the "old folks" home with the music making the cut.
If it's not them, take your pick or combo from this list...
Steven Tyler
Joe Perry
Brian May
Roger Taylor
Alice Cooper
Mick Jagger
Keith Richards
It won't be anybody newer than the early 90's. You'll see Chris Cornell up there doing it, before Flowers.
