That's it, you can look at this thing as a time to finally put the old band/reunion thing to bed. Get up with the original guys, play some songs then that's it. He can then carry on with the current lineup up if that's what he chooses to do and hopefully then there will be a little less baggage for him to carry around.

Absolutely. Write this down, if they do not use this opportunity to come full circle, and right the wrongs of the last 18 years or so by patching things up... it will stain their legacy forever.

They will never escape that shit stain. Never. And it will be tragically sad for themselves, and their fans.

Like I said, I don't care if the current line up is inducted with the original or not. But if inducting the current line up got Axl and Slash on stage together, then yes, I am all for it. I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that.

well i do, they don't read/understand what you're saying.

re: axlin & aussie's thoughts on closure: i agree that this moment represents probably the easiest & best opportunity to bury the hatchet(s).
i don't know so much about this idea of staining the legacy. i have some idea where axlin is coming from but to me it's already fact & isn't so much a stain but a case of wasted potential. there is NO denying or taking away the brilliance & impact of AFD/UYI2 & all the songs in those albums & those not on those albums - Nov Rain, Coma, Patience.
that body of work is the legacy. a collection of timeless songs. what happened after is certainly tragic & sad for everyone involved, but it doesn't take away from the songs that did come out.

Yeah.

With all the post-1993 guys it'd look like a gipsy caravan. I mean even Gary Sunshine will get inducted, cause he played on OMG? and Navarro, too? Moby, cause he almost helped them out? Reznor, Limp Bizkit and Elton John for influencing Axl?
I'm sorry but guys who weren't even there and didn't even like the band, like Tommy and Robin, how in the hell could be inducted on the 25th anniversary of AFD? Or DJ, who contributed as much to the the legacy back then as madagas - they both were hanbanging in their bedroom for PC, that's it.

It's a clear situation. Axl Rose left the band in the mid 90s and formed a new band with the same name. Now the classic band is honured, not the other band, therefore it's Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, Steven, maybe Matt, Dizzy or questionably Gilby. They were what the public knows as Guns N' Roses, they wrote it, or represented it in their heyday. Axl's new band can be inducted in 2033, 25 years after CD - if they manage to deserve it till then. Nuff said.

I don't think Tommy deserves to get in as Gnr and I am quite certain he would be embarrassed by it. If the Faces can get in, maybe the Replacements can at some point.

I also think Tommy would be the guy that helps convince Axl to bury the hatchet for one night and do a few songs with the old guys. Just my two cents. Done talking about this....my opinion is the same. Original 5...blow out WTTJ, SC, and PC...and go back to what you were doing.

Yeah, it'd be Adam Lambert and Paul Rodgers getting there with Queen. Absurd.

I agree that those guys in the past-1993 line-ups who have any self-respect wouldn't want to be inducted now.

Understandbly, there is a lot of emotions amung fans when it comes to "who should be at the ceremony?" and "which members should consider themselvs inducted?" etc etc.

My view is that, if you've recorded on a released GNR-album, you're in!
That leaves out only one member (as of now). That could change before the ceremony, if a new album is released.

And I guess that if RRHF wants Axl to be there at the ceremony, he will prolly demand that HE chooses who he wants to be on that stage with. Considering recent comments by Slash that "we've actually been pretty cool lately" or something like that, I'm not 100% sure that excludes him.
