Re: BLACK LABEL SOCIETY: Announces Shows With GUNS N' ROSES

I couldn't be more excited for the Indianapolis show next month. It's going to be my first GNR concert ever. And, even though I'm a much bigger fan of Duff, Bach, and Buckcherry, I'm actually looking forward to seeing Black Label Society open. I put together a playlist on my MP3 player a few days ago, and their music's been growing on me. In fact, if they play "Overlord", there's a good chance that I might lose my shit.

The idiocy that Bucket has no soul or taste can be debunked by that CD alone.

I'm looking at you Smoking Guns.

I thought we settled this long ago. Bucket is more than a "wank fest." That just shows you're unable to keep up in this debate. I've heard all of Slash's stuff and can criticize him. Have you heard all of Bucket's stuff? No. Population Override is not a wank fest. Population Override has taste and soul.

Chicken Noodles is not a wank fest. Chicken Noodles has taste and soul.

Electric Tears is not a wank fest. Electric Tears has taste and soul.

Colma is not a wank fest. Colma has taste and soul.

"Wank fest." Give me a break. That was the argument from 8 years ago. Most of even the critics have figured out he's not just a speed/metal guitarist. Stop making yourself look stupid.

It shouldn't even be worth your time debating this man, anyone who says Bucket cant play with soul are wankers. That's a wank fest, a wank fest with people not knowing shit.

Yeah, i'm not even going to bother. Thx Bri, you get it. Thx DCK, you get it. I love the people debating me, some of them have never even seen Bucket live, but they know better.

The only thing I will acknowledge is MonkeyChow's question of "what got me that opinion".

I watched Bucket perform bluesy solos, cover Jimi, and do it with such soul and passion, combined with technical prowess that Slash would hit his knees and weep.

That's what I saw. The man literally can DO IT ALL. Slash can't. And the people claiming Bucket has no songs with soul, obviously have never listened to his music, and the people thinking Slash writes nothing but great riffs, have obviously not listened to Slash's catalog either.

Apparently saying Slash was a "fantastic guitar player" wasn't good enough.

Yo, I am a HUGE Bucketfan, I was talking in GENERAL TERMS not to fall for typical "shredder tricks"..... Bucket has a shit load of taste... I am not sure where I implied "he" didn't... If I did, I apologize.  Infact, I said Bucket and Slash came from different backgrounds and but stray into each others often.  Bucket is a neoclassical/shred type guy... Slash is a Blues based hard rock guy.  But, Bucket at times is bluesy, and at times Slash is metal/shred.  After Slash, Bucket is the next greatest guitarist ever in GNR.

Okay, I read my post.. I over reacted... In the end, I "do" think Slash typically is the "tastier" player, but, Bucket is a total animal on the guitar.  Zakk to me has a good combo of shred and soul, but I still would generally put Slash over him as well.

You implied that Slash is better than Bucket, because he's got more taste and class than to do technical shredding, which I KNEW had to be vendetta-like, because you are FAR smarter than that statement. So it had to be about not liking Bucket.

For me I wasn't slighting Slash in the least, I was just saying on the shows I saw with the both of them this year, Bucket was the better show. It just was. And personally dude, I think it's because Slash is in his zone that Slash does his thing. Which is fine. But at the same time... Slash doesn't push himself. He doesn't. Bucket does. However at the same time, Bucket pushes himself so much that he'll do certain tracks with no real direction or point, which turns Slash fans off because even Slash's crap -- is purposely trying to be something. Even if it's crap.

So there are pros and cons to both. Either way, apology accepted.

Check out Slash's "wank fest" at the 2:06 mark and on.

Anybody that hears that, or the current GN'R doing Whole Lotta Rosie and saying it sucks, are fucking deaf. Axl obviously LOVES doing that tune. It's apart of his soul.
