Going through the ticketmaster reviews almost every single post complains about being late. The majority are good reviews, even great, "Best show ever" but all mention being late. The bad reviews were mainly because of his tardiness, and only a couple were about his voice.

Imagine if this guy just showed up on time and rocked the mofo house. They could become so much more relevant I'd bet. He already has the great show thing down, why not just be punctual? Another option (call me crazy) is to simply have the show start later. Opening band comes on later too, that was we get the usual 45-60 between sets.

It would never happen though.

Again a perception that too many fans on these boards seem to have is that the average joe is online doing research. That isn't fucking happening. Even still those who know he'll be late will still hate the fact he's late.

Agreed but the last time I mentioned this I was labelled  "dooms dayer, hater, who hopes the band will fail"   regardless the fedora style hats look stupid.  He looks much cooler with just the bandana and shit why not just let the hair flow once in a while.

its not a perception

i said "if"

if they are not reading the reviews then its not a concern that this negative part is in them

"if" they are then they'll be prepared if they go.

to address your point:

certainly some people are reading the reviews when considering going with all of the mishaps this band has had while touring over the years.

i dont mind him wearing hats but some of them look bad.
i dont mind the bandana either.

in both cases, however, i think his hair l0oks bad hanging out in the back.

it looks damaged.

i would cut it as much as needed in order to regrow a better mane.

if it is thinned to the point that this is no longer possible then id go short.

if you're covering 90 percent of it with hats and bandanas anyways, whats the  point in having it hang out in the back if its damaged?

Its going well because people love those fucking songs and they just want to hear Axl sing them.  On the way to the show last night with my cousin and 2 friends, they asked, "Did Guns N Roses just reunite", then after I told them the deal I get, "dude, what the fuck, Slash won't be here?"....   Its the songs, that is why people went.  And in songs, I am not talking about songs from CD, but, the album being out did help....  Its a nostalgia thing.

No offense, but anyone who thinks that today is seriously stupid. Believe me, I totally get where you're coming from. I'm the first mother fucker here saying, "most people on the street have no clue Slash is out of the band; these are your impulse ticket/album buyers"

And I still believe that. But if they're pissed 'cause Slash ain't there -- that's their fault. The man has been out of GN'R since 1996. It's amazing to me that people use smartphones for every gay ass thing known to man today, including what Kim K is saying about being a whore and getting divorced, but they don't have 5 fuckin' seconds to check Wikipedia and see that Slash is LONG gone.

Ignorance isn't an excuse anymore. Not in 2011.

True but this is just the way it is. The vast majority of people buying tickets and albums are not doing research about it online before hand. They just aren't. Anyone who thinks Joe blow checks online to see the on goings of Gn'R is living in an online fan forum bubble.  Having said that IF Slash was back in Guns N' Roses it would be front page news  for every single music publication. But the average Joe has no clue about this band. In the four shows I've seen since 2006 I've gone with a  total of 9 different people and not one of them had  a clue who was in the band. Not one of them.  I did have one friend in 2010 who went(not with me) text me though and ask if Slash was in the band.  BUt again my friends don't represent the general public so that example is irrelvant I'm sure.

Like SG said people go for the songs and they go because it's promoted as GUNS N' ROSES. The name on it's own sells a lot of tickets whether people want to aknowledege that or not.  And sadly the vast majority fo epopel who are going don't give a shit about the CD songs. Yes fans may sing along but it doesn't take many fans singing to make it sound liek the entire arena is singing.

Still great shows and positive reviews will only help the cause.

I agree with that, and I think it applies even more to the younger kids. I think Naltav touched on that, and it's dead on, especially from what I saw.

The kids have no clue. They just love the music, and are having a GREAT time at the show. Hearing the songs, they also seemed more in-touch with CD than the rest.

It was kind of touching hearing them say "I really liked the guy in the hat" (DJ), and then watching these young kids with their friends on the tile floor there after the show try to mimic Axl's kickstep thing. They obviously had the time of their lives.
