Was a very nice crowd..  The lower level horseshoe was pretty full.  Good crowd on the floor.  The venue was very nice, that was my first time in Phillips Arena.

The sound, they were pretty loud...  Here is why I think Axlin08 fell in love with the show... The mix.  The mix kind of blended Axl's vocals in nice and it probably covered up some stuff to be honest.  With the band being so loud, and Axl's vocals not out in front, it blended in very good and he sounded awesome.  But during a couple parts, when he pulled the mike away from his face, it sounded like he was still singing.  So that was either back ground vocals, or, the crowd singing that loud.

Axl's energy was great.  He seemed to be in a really good mood.  Talked about the last time he was in Atlanta, etc.  He did all his signature moves, etc.  I think if we had his vocal alone, we would think different, I think the loundness of all the instruments covered up an flaws, kudos to the sound guys for mixing it so well.

I did close my eyes and imagine the old band, I did have an empty feeling, but I really did enjoy Axl.  There is no "star power" besides Axl.  Which is why nobody really cares about the other guys and their solos (I hate all the guitar players solos, of the 3, Fortus has the best)...  Duff, Slash, even Izzy were all stars that one could stare at live and be entertained.  Now, you just look at Axl, and that is fine, just an observation.

I liked Sorry...  KOHD was good.  PC was fantastic.  Plus when everyone is singing around you, that too makes Axl sound better than perhaps he really did.

Overall, great show, and better than 2002 when I saw them in Detroit.  Probably not as good at 2001 in Las Vegas (Dec. 29th gig).

Good review, SG, but as I read it it kind of came off as, "yeah, Axl probably kind of blew, but the sound guys made him sound better... And the crowd noise... and the band being really loud! He probably sucked, I just couldn't hear it. But he probably did."

Mister, he sounded so fucking good, that, either he has a whole new voice, or the sound guys mixed him just low enough.  Serious, he sounded THAT good.  Maybe he was just THAT bad at RIR?

Ron is an animal and really should play all the solos, I guess DJ does good enough on the easy ones...

Fortus had some nice solos actually, I focused on him some.  That dude gets no respect, he has the chops DJ doesn't have and he has the look Ron doesn't have and he "shred" too much like Ron does.  He is a nice blend.

mmmm...yes, Fortus can play. Axl sounded fucking awesome..period. The mix guys did a great job. No sound issues at all. I am a Tommy fan, and I thought he had some good energy.

Stinson's bass cut out or something on my generation and he chunked it over the stage onto the floor was gr8! he was really into the song!.  Had a blast. Guns was on 30-45 mins after BC left stage! axl talked about going to jail last time in ATL. show was about 3 hrs. glad some left I got better seats. The BC set was awesome and worth price of admission IMHO and I dont really like them.  Axls voice was vintage on some songs. Some not so much. plenty of covers and Chin. Dem. Everyone was on there feet for first 3or 4 songs and all the classics. THe guitars rock DJ has alot of energy and fan interaction, Axl was playing with some chiks bra and panties on stage.
