Re: Duff- RE: Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
Bucket is an original, I won't deny him that.
All his shred licks are pure Paul Gilbert though.
Not dissing him....just sayin...if you're going to call Slash on the Joe Perry style then it's fair play...Gilbert was bucket's teacher for a time and it shows.

I think the HOF would go down without a live peformance from GNR....maybe get like A7X or someone like that who have strong GNR influences to do a tribute set.

Re: Duff- RE: Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
Guys, you are all hilarious... This isn't fanboy shit, but Slash is more popular now weather it be from Guitar Hero, his book, his album, his VR work or his GNR work than ever before. He is a session player to the stars. He is more relevant NOW than all those other guys listed. Yes, Clapton for 50 years old and older is still huge, but EVERYONE knows Slash from that silhoutte alone. The top hat alone and everyone knows its Slash. Eddie Van Halen is huge, but, his hermit lifestyle means less exposure. Slash is famous cause he works his ass off and will do the media thing. You want instant "rock cred"? You work with Slash. Slash and Zakk were the last 2 guitar heroes that there has been. Slash is much bigger than Zakk, but Zakk is much bigger than most everyone else. I am not saying Slash is the most famous all time, but, in 2011, in a world where not many give a fuck about hard rock guitar, Slash is up there. Sig Amps, pedals, games, guitars, strings, pickups... That shit aint for guys people don't know.
Re: Duff- RE: Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
I can see the Slash/Joe Perry similarities, but Slash is a different beast. Less sloppy and more slick, probably even more slick than Jimmy Page. Like a powerhouse 70's rock band. I'd take Slash over Joe, and that's disrespect to Joe.
