Is it just me or is wrestling the biggest "sport" in America? It's always the biggest sport thread on forums. Why does nobody care about football or baseball? Or is it just not as interesting to talk about?

It's nowhere near as big as football. It's big though and I think it's because it's just an ongoing soap opera that people can go see live. It's a travcelling road show no different thana  band. If the WWE took up shop in say Chicago and did 42 shows in a 5 month span ticket sales would suffer big time in my opinion. No different than say if  Areosmith played 42 shows in Chicago in a 5 month span.  So in that sense it's nowhere near what a legitimate pro sport is in terms of popularity. As far as "players" or characters go, the old favorites never seem to leave and new characters are always being introduced.  Also it's always the biggest "sports" thread because the season never ends.

That's a really good point. Even with baseball, think of a popular team like the Chicago Cubs in Chicago.

Even sucking and being one of the worst teams in the NL... they still can sellout and overall do over 3 million in attendence every season.

NO WAY wrasslin' can touch that. Look at WCW or TNA who stayed in one place quite a bit. Eventually attendence started to decline after the novelty wore off.

It's ongoing every week of the year and every week there is more often than not a bunch of new stuff to talk about again.

Sunday night, "Survivor Series". What probably could have been the biggest PPV of the year several weeks with the storyline threads, turned into another mess with a bunch of random thrown together matches at the last min. that'll probably have bad buy rates.

MSG and the big return of The Rock to the ring. If Cena doesn't turn heel on Sunday night, he never will. I honestly think WWE's short term future depends on it at this point.

It'll never happen imo. Cena is his generation's Hogan, but the problem is Hollywood Hogan only had the popularity it had, because the heel Hogan got to ride the unexpected wave of the nWo.

Cena doesn't have that, nor is there another nWo or DX in the making over at the WWE to make it happen.

Well no heel turn and it was as anti climatic as one might guessed, but the final 10 mintues of the PPV was The Rock completely burrying Cena and in storyline sense humiliating him. Cena crawled to the entrance, after getting booed heavily and getting hit by Rock who pretty much hit all the offense and won the tag match.

I don't know, if that doesn't set up a heel turn nothing can. It's impossible to turn Rock heel and Wrestlemaina is in Rock's home city.

Last night's RAW was pretty good I thought. Glad they've given Punk the title again, hope his reign this time is very long.

Does anyone remember that Fantasy Football style thing that was done with wrestling a while back, I'd love to do that again, I'd run it but no idea how to to run it.

I stopped doing it, because it just wasn't that popular. Out of the few people that actually signed up, only 3 people posted in that thread. Me, Axl S and James. Tons of work, despite the copy and paste/edit. Wasn't really worth doing to me.

As for these days, various essay's ensure I'm busy, then throw World Of Warcraft.
