Incidently brownstone is one of those songs that's so fun to play on guitar...like you can be sick of the studio track and then pick up a guiitar and bust out that riff on a marshal stack and it's just gold.

I have to get around to learning that and a bunch more GN'R on the guitar.

Not to talk myself up, but GN'R is what got me into guitar years ago wen I first started playing, but just learning guitar, I found GN'R hard to play.

But going off and playing other music over the years, like Metallica and other more metal stuff, I came back to the old GN'R stuff and found I can play a lot of it with ease now. Great fun though!

The solos I really want to master is all the Slash stuff in Estranged.
Just gotta have the time and patience to actually do it!:haha:

hehhe...I'm sort of the opposite to metalalex...when I try and play GNR it makes me feel like I suck! So i stick to the occasional riffage here and there!!

yeah i can play Patience pretty much whole tune

then DC just the main riff and rhythm (want to learn the solo), SCOM intro  and basic rythm, intro to brownstone...it is fun to play smile though i cant squeeze as many notes into it as the tab tells me to play 16 got intro and rhythm down on KOHD been meaning to tackle the first solo for a week now

who knows the full SCOM intro including the ending of it? cuz i cant seem to get the end of the intro riff right for some reason hmm the song sounds differnt than is tabbed out...some of the notes really ring on the recording and a cant seem to get that down any help is appreciated

and dammit i just realized that i owe Russ something! i will try to remember tomorrow man

I can play every GNR song start to finish including the new stuff. I love playing GNR songs and I think Better and IRS are most fun to play

I wish I was better at guitar. My fat little fingers struggle with fast smooth riffs, like Brownstone.

I've always loved Izzy, but recently came across a dude on YouTube playing the rhythm part to Move to the City that made me realize how cool rhythm guitar can be.  And there's way more than a dude playing chords behind the lead.  It's really made me focus in on the rhythm section much more. I had a similar awakening to bass lines a long time ago (as a Beatles fan).

I kind of want to find a good resource online for accurate Izzy parts, if anyone knows of one.

Paul was a way better bass player than most give him credit for. There are some awesome bass lines hidden in Beatles songs.

I love Paul's bass playing, actually. His solo stuff is full of cool bass too.

Now, back to GNR ...
