Any Aussies here planning to go along to this?

Pretty cool line up, although the headliners would have been great around 10 years ago when they were in their prime... 16

Still, I'm looking forward to seeing Alter Bridge, Black Label Society, Steel Panther, Machine Head, Trivium, Mastedon, Hellyeah, and no doubt, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson and System Of A Down will put on great shows too.

And there's still more acts to be announced...

Yeah I'm planning on going, looking forward to it.

I'm still pissed that Soundwave Rvolution was cancelled.

I'm still debating with myself...

I want to see Steal Panther, Alterbridge and BLS...but it's a pricey ticket when you consider the potential for clashes and that they'll be short sets earlier on in the day....

I'm half wondering if any of them were to do a show outside of SW....which seems plausable given they're not the headliners...if maybe i'd dig that more...full set lists, better sound and less scene kiddies wink

Although the festival atmosphere of SW2011 was fun in the end I must say!

True some of the clashes at the last one sucked. I remember they had Slayer on the small stage and you couldn't get near it - dickheads!

The price of the tickets  plus drinks certainly makes it an expensive day tho.

Try catching The Sisters of Mercy. A solid act.

Have heard good things about Enter Shikari as well.

BLS, Mastadon and Steel Panther should all be higher on that list.  Definitely above Limp Bizkit, Hole, A Day To Remember, Trivium, Lost Prophets, Angels and Airwaves... etc.

Courtney Love Leaves Soundwave Due To Limp Bizkit

by Andrew Tijs on October 17, 2011

Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah tweets that Courtney Love has cancelled Hole’s slot because of Limp Bizkit.

Rumours had been swimming around that Hole had dropped out of Soundwave 2012. On outspoken promoter AJ Maddah’s twitter feed, he half confirmed it by tweeting: “Probably. Will wait to talk to her dipshit agent on Monday night before commenting.”

He responded to suggestions that Courtney Love pulled out because she didn’t want to “support” Limp Bizkit by tweeting: “That seems to be the excuse. Funny that they reconfirmed after seeing the rest of the line-up and artwork.”

He later responded to disappointed fans: “tbh, I am really mad about this. I was given so many assurances that this would not happen when I took the booking.” And then: “And that is why we got 3 confirmations the last hours before announcement and with full knowledge of the line-up.”

AJ then all but confirmed that Hole were out, tweeting: “Agent, despite promise not to pull out: ‘I only promised to get the fee. We have no control over what Courtney does’”, then “No point talking her back, only for her to cancel later, or turn up & act like a rotten twat to other artists, fans, etc.” and finally “Yep. Limp is the excuse they are giving. Like we were going to ask her permission everytime we book a band.”

So for all intents and purposes, we can assume Hole is out because of Limp Bizkit. Take sides, people.

Not a fan of Limp Bizkit, they just seem like a fad band that overstayed their welcome. But Courtney Love is a dumb bitch for doing this.

If she was smart, she would have stayed on and played a killer performance that would put Limp Bizkit in their place. Instead, she leaves them holding all the cards, and her looking like a fool.

Yeah I don't think Linp Bizkit are anything great. But it sounds like Courtney Love is still being a dick, shame coz I would have been curious to check Hole out never having seen them before.

Apex I will check our Sisters of Mercy, I have a mate that wants to go just to see them, so will definitely catch their performance.
